There has been a lot of speculation about the timing of the arrest and whether it indicates the defendant in the case was planning an imminent attack (or perhaps be waa becoming a flight risk). While this task force likely had a detailed timeline, milestones and plans, including potential arrest dates, I think it is also perfectly possible that, after evidence secured and prosecution ready for the grand jury, during a leaders' standup they just spontaneously decided to arrest him. It appears more choreographed (and the actual arrest was) but the go/no go decision to conduct this arrest I am arguing could have been more spontaneous than we think. The reason for saying this is anecdotal.

That always surprises me when the spouse/fiancé shows up in court. I’d stay far away.

Denial is one helluva of a drug. Imagine thinking someone you married turns out to be a sadistic serial killer. I think denial would be the first reaction. Even if she is an abused woman it takes time to come to terms. Trauma bonding.
I never understood it until I experienced it and trauma causes people to slip into denial for their own sanity.
As time goes on and she is separated from him and starts to see more evidence she should come around.

At yesterday's press confernce, the DA said that the reason they made their move to arrest RH on Thursday was for public safety reasons. He was under surveillance, but the DA made it clear that even having him under surveillance would have its limits, and so for public safety reasons they knew they had to act, even though they would have liked to have some more time for more of the evidence to come in.

I haven't seen any mention in MSM about LE searching RH's office in Manhattan, but I assume that would be high on their list as well as searching the home.

With regard to his wife and children, I hope they have some place to go as it doesn't appear as if they will be able to return to the Long Island house, nor perhaps would they want to.

Having a son with disabilities, it might not be easy for the wife to make a quick adjustment in living arrangements, and MSM articles describe them as very private, so I do hope she has some kind of support system, as it doesn't sound like there is much in the way of finances to fall back on with all the debt for taxes, etc.

Is it likely he didn't commit any murders from the time the GB4 were found until he fell under the investigators' radar? IF he was involved in assaults or killings during those years the investigators would have found ties to other cases but there's no mention of such (which I find interesting). jmo

Hi everyone, while watching this lengthy interview that isnt particularity good or interesting in it itself but is now given the new arrest it is and I saw some things. Based on his way during it it struck me that this guy is extremely controlling and can lose his temper incredibly fast. You can sense the tension in his way of talking and what he talks about. He has very sadistic gratification kinks and devised a plan after meeting with escorts. It didnt start this way but as his dark pleasures grew it eventually resulted in this. He likely doesnt really understand why he is the way he is and how it spiraled out of control this badly but knows he is very dangerous and kind of wanted to be caught to no longer hurt anyone else deep down.

It's VERY hard for me to believe that he just stopped. I believe there were probably victims prior to Maureen , and probably victims after Amber. Like many here, I have always felt like the killer of the Gilgo 4 was a likely candidate for the AC 4 murders. I hope LE continues to look into that possibility.

This makes sense--they wouldn't allow her to go in and retrieve the items herself, so they would have to get them out for her.

According to news reports, his daughter is 26 years old - assuming she is his biological daughter. The media IMO seems to make out that they have a biological child together and a son from his wives previous marriage, so I'm assuming she's his bio daughter. It's likely that they were living together for longer than 22 years if that is indeed when they married. JMO.

It doesn't look like peaches (and her infant) is being considered a victim of his as far as I can tell, at least not yet, but peaches was found 26 years ago..

I have long heard that the child was not believed to have been a LISK victim. We'll find out eventually, I'm sure.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this defendant and see just how long he's been living the con. I welcome any thoughts. Was this guy once successful but fell off because of some mental illness or compulsion or, was he always nothing more than a con.

This defendant's education and credentials do not match up with what we are learning about him. He claimed to have high net worth corporate clients, yet he appears destitute, indigent.

1. His house is (and according to neighbors always has been) in significant disrepair, upsetting neighbors; devaluing neighboring property values

2. He had a multitude of tax liens - both personal (federal and state) and property (if this guy can be $81.5K in arrears in state personal income taxes and penalties owed; $425K in federal income taxes and penalties owed, he had to be making some money. You don't get close to $100K if you don't make any money because if you are that poor you usually owe little to no tax.)

3. He seemed to supplement his income by periodically filing lawsuits, (strikes me as a pattern of engaging in insurance fraud in at least one if not more but this is speculation and MOO).

4. The influx of some of this income from insurance settlements seemed to coincide with paying off some of the tax liens/arrears, resulting in releases of liens being filed for some of them.

So who is this guy? And, how in the world is he affording office space in Midtown? It seems this guy might have had these high profile corporate clients maybe once or twice early in his career decades ago but, logic dictates that those clients disappeared a long time ago. The whole success story appears to be a sham. A facade. And, it appears he was very adept at covering his tracks. So much so that he was put on agency radar more than once and they couldn't find or prove any violations.
