The Barnegat Bay Decoy and Gunning Show (a duck hunting convention) was held in Tuckerton, NJ on September 23 & 24, 2006 (Tuckerton is a 30-50 minute drive from Atlantic City).

You would need a NJ license to buy a gun at a gun show if you are a NY resident. unless he was just going to look.

I still find it highly unlikely that RH is responsible for the Atlantic City killings. Apart from the victims being similar (four young women, sexworkers, struggled with drugs) and the fact that they were found near a body of water are the only things that make the cases similar. All the other circumstances are entirely different. Most likely is that it seems that RH is a "homely" killer - he killed in an area which he knew well. The AC4 victims were posed, while the GB4 victims were simply dumped. Sexworkers are the most common victim demographic of serial killers, so, that's not really saying anything either.

I think RH is only responsible for the GB4 killings and, possibly, the Asian male, whom RH beat to death rather than strangled because he failed to become aroused by him.

Based on a past program, it seems like it is much more focused on decoys and duck calling (the Barnegat Bay convention is home to the New Jersey Duck Calling Championship) than guns. It seems to be more of a hub for people looking to buy/sell decoys and other duck hunting related gear than a gun show.

Very possible but in my opinion and living in the area. I don't think hes A duck hunter or at least not in the past 2 or 3 decades. No one really hunts in the area, very little and hard to get permits and any gun shots usually means cops show up because the soccer moms don't like guns. . Hunting is hard you need to be in some type of shape.

I still find it highly unlikely that RH is responsible for the Atlantic City killings. All the other circumstances are entirely different. Most likely is that it seems that RH is a "homely" killer - he killed in an area which he knew well. The AC4 victims were posed, while the GB4 victims were simply dumped. Sexworkers are the most common victim demographic of serial killers, so, that's not really saying anything either.

I think RH is only responsible for the GB4 killings and, possibly, the Asian male, whom RH beat to death rather than strangled because he failed to become aroused by him.

Any connections from this point on, imo, will be determined by DNA and proven whereabouts of RH.

In addition to DNA that can be matched, LE now have his credit card info, work history, bank info, cell phone info, vehicle info. They will be able to determine where he was and when. If he wasn't in Atlantic City, or Vegas, or SC in the right time frame, then he will be crossed off the list, imo.

I'm hoping some unsolved cases will now be solved, but it's overwhelming to think he was a cross-country killer.

My brain always goes back to Maureen because I feel like so much of this mystery lies with her and I’ve always felt like there may be a Connecticut link. With people discussing RH going to Atlantic City, and his possible connection to the 4 victims, it would also make sense for him to visit Connecticut casinos. If you are a gambler from Long Island there is a 90% chance you are either going to Foxwoods Casino or Mohegan Sun. They are much much closer. Between those two massive casinos and the naval base, this area is very profitable and busy for sex workers. Girls travel from all over the east coast to work the casinos. Not all of these dates happen in the fancy casino hotels w cameras etc. There are dozens and dozens of motels on outskirts as well as women doing in calls from their homes. We also know that Maureen at one point had a job as a Black Jack dealer at one of the casinos prior to her involvement in sex work.

We know for a fact that the task force was trailing him for over a year and he was regularly patronizing sex workers the entire time.

Atlantic City is so close to New York that I've wondered if RH perhaps did not do business there, or at least pitch some business there -- or at least pretend to his wife that he did. He could tell his family he was entertaining a potential client, he could attend the conventions -- there are so many story possibilities an architect with his own business could tell his wife to justify him spending an occasional long weekend or a few days a month in AC.

It sounds like he was continuing to see sex workers until his arrest, and at least one former sex worker has come forward about a previous date with him. It sounds like the GB 4 were murdered when his wife and children were out of town, so it's possible that he only committed murders during this time (or when he was out of town himself, IMO). Someone also just posted this, which might confirm this theory:

I don't agree. Driving wise Foxwood/Mohegan & AC are about 3 hours. Even if you take the ferry to CT you don't save that much time. I have done it multiple times still takes about 3 hours. Just no traffic. its a 1:45 car ride just from Massapequa to the orient point ferry. AC has much more entertainment. not to long ago from 21 to about 25 My friends and I started going to casinos more for birthdays and just to have fun.
AC is much more entertainment. Especially for guys. AC strip clubs are full nude and open until 6AM as well and BYOB. AC is the first time in my life I saw sex workers actually walking the streets. There's way more people and casinos in AC. there's also the boardwalk and other attractions. Foxwoods/mohegan are pretty boring. the clubs close at 1am. there's nothing to do once you leave the casino's. None of us ever liked going there. It was always AC over CT.

A very close buddy of mine is related to someone that is VERY close to Burke. Said person was in the works with Burke to get my buddy and I onto Suffolk PD (A LOT of NEPOTISM is involved with all public jobs around here) , but that was derailed when burke was arrested. I am kicking myself in the *advertiser censored* for being a long time lurker but never actually creating a profile and commenting on Burke. Because some of the theories I have heard about him over the years on these threads are just way way off in my opinion.

From everything my buddy has told me about burke in my opinion he's not involved with this.
Again this is all my opinion. Burke is a typical Long Island "public servant" on steroids. Overpaid, underworked and thought he was untouchable. He carelessly gave car that had his gun in it to a prostitute for Christ sake, not something a careful killer would do. Beating up a suspect in NY has strong entrenched unions that help cops (and teachers) get away with just about anything (I had a teacher in my HS that was having sex with student. proof and pics up the gazoo and union helped him continue to get paid for almost 3 years from the school) . So, it gets to many's heads that they are untouchable. Burke was a playboy/cowboy. He did drugs, was caught up in all types of corruption and schemes but I highly doubt he was involved with Rex. He fought off FBI help not because he was involved with the murder but because he didn't want them looking into him. With the FBI around he would have to straighten up.

Specifically, an internal affairs report from 18 years ago shows that then-Sergeant Burke was attached romantically to a convicted prostitute and drug dealer named Lowrita Rickenbacker. All of her multiple arrests had happened in the precinct in which Burke was a supervisor, but he still claimed to internal affairs investigators that he’d had no knowledge of her criminal history.

Suffolk police investigators concluded that, in 1993, then-Sergeant Burke had a months-long relationship with the prostitution and drug dealing convict, and had on one occasion even left her alone in his car with his gun belt and service weapon in the back seat. The internal affairs report, obtained by Newsday, also substantiated that Burke had, at least once, engaged in a sexual act with Rickenbacker in his patrol car.

After internal affairs probed Burke’s relationship with Lowrita Rickenbacker and substantiated it through testimony and lie detector tests of her and then-Sergeant Burke, it is not at all clear that Burke was disciplined.

Instead, in 2000, five years after the probe was completed, Burke was promoted to lieutenant. Then, in 2002, he was named chief of detectives by District Attorney Spota. In 2012, Burke was named Suffolk County police chief.

Cops are probing whether the 59-year-old Long Island resident operated in the New Jersey area, and have been interviewing jailed sex workers who interacted with him.

'He had reached out to them for sex,' Sheriff Errol Toulon from the Suffolk County police department told Good Morning America about the prostitutes officials have talked to. 'They took the calls but did not meet with him.'

The investigation now covers four states - Heuermann owns a time-share in Las Vegas and a property in South Carolina - and police are investigating if he could be connected to any unsolved killings there.

where the women in AC shot? I don't see RH driving through NYC and NJ with a firearm and taking that risk, besides he probably derived pleasure from being hands-on.

Typically the photos shown are not too graphic or gruesome. If I had to guess, the photos were likely just surveillance photos of him with other SW and/or his tinder profile showing proof of his unknown second life to his wife and explaining to her theirs alot you don’t know about your husband, etc. They rarely tip their hand (just in case she passes along info to the defense atty or her husband)
