Investigators in Gilgo Beach case operating on theory that the killings occurred in suspect’s home

Does that mean they think all of them were committed there?

Additional quote

"One of the reasons the search of the suspect’s home has taken so long is because investigators are also combing for trace evidence that may be linked to the victims, multiple sources said"

Investigators think Heuermann would've had a big advantage using his own home, where he'd more easily be able to access materials like burlap bags ...

A lot of chilling details have surfaced in the week since his arrest ... including an account from a former escort who claims she went on a "date" with Heuermann while the murders were happening. She says he brought up the Gilgo Beach killings and was oddly enthusiastic about it.

He looks like a different person now.
I'm not sure how old he is, but he aged considerably.
I would never guess he is the same man.

I was shocked by his change in appearance too. He actually looks better because he's probably living a clean life now and working out. IMO he always looked beat up when he was PC.

Thank you for doing this, @Ursamajr.

I really, REALLY hate saying this, but to my eye, this could possibly (IMO) be Melissa Barthelemy, especially after abuse/torture :'(

If it were to represent MB, IMO it is not a photograph. Melissa Barthelemy has a significant amount of space between her eye and eyebrow. The figure in the image taken from RH's home has none. Source: I'm an artist who does figure studies/paintings/portraits.

I think the burlap was not just used to conceal, I think it was done in order for him to pitch the bodies off his truck/ drag the bodies, arrange them etc..mOO

So they are reporting that he has a tv in his cell but he isn't watching the news.
This report if true is interesting. I am neither a psychologist nor psychiatrist, but with other apparent reports of calls by the suspect to relatives of the victims to taunt or inquire of them - and then it now seems he is not watching to see or seeking what others thought of these actions he is alleged to have conducted…… I am surely not qualified to know what that signifies. It's awful, but they must need to clear her being as her hair was found on some victims, which may take a while. Just procedural. I sure hope she's getting help, and support.

yes, absolutely.

a boy across the street from me was murdered by Gacy..scary times in so many ways easier for killers...no cameras, no cell phones, lot's kids on the streets too..in the 70's..

That's awful.

That's an interesting question. It seems he planned to retire in SC, and retirement years are approaching. What were his plans for that house? Tear it down and sell the lot? Surely he couldn't sell "as is" with potential evidence in the house (and potentially quite literally IN the house).

jmo
I can't imagine him moving into the woods on that property. He's a city man and has lived his life that way. It would be a culture shock for him to move away. OTOH he believed he was free and clear from these murders and putting distance between what he was doing would clear his conscience. But big surprise for him, that will never happen now. JMO

To me, he doesn't care because he knows exactly what's about to unravel. If he was innocent wouldn't he be glued to the screen wandering wth is going on?
If I was innocent I doubt I could sleep I'd be pacing the cell, calling my attorney panicked. If I was guilty and knew the jig was up I'd just sleep.
If years passed and I tried to prove my innocence and a jury found me guilty I may give up hope and then start sleeping non-stop.

What about you guys? How do you handle stress, extreme anxiety, and shock?

Would SW’s or Escorts readily agree to accompanying a new customer (or any customer) to his home?

Wondering if LE has found evidence of RH paying for hotels rooms. Isn’t that the usual way these encounters happen.

If RH did kill these girls inside his home, what could that mean as far as his method of gaining trust?
Did he previously “date” these girls ( restaurant, dinner, meet at a park) and have pleasant, non threatening conversation with the intent of gaining their trust - for the final date at his home.
So many questions.

he doesn't need to watch the news..he knows they have him and it's only a matter of time before they know quite a bit more. mOO

Just read this on my newsfeed:

the search of the Massapequa Park property enters its eighth day on Friday and will likely continue for another two weeks, an official familiar with the investigation told the outlet

I feel so bad for the family and neighbors

Bringing any of the victims to his home sure would magnify the chances of being caught/seen/etc
Maybe just looking for evidence related to the crimes.

Next-door neighbor says he would see RH in front of his house in his car, engine running, in late-night hours. Once heard RH digging in the yard late at night and claims RH burned his garbage every few weeks, which is not allowed in that area. Neighbor didn't like him.

I wonder if he was burning evidence. I personally have a paper shredder, but with him he probably had much more than paper to get rid of. Creepy.

If they were desperate enough they probably would.

So true but then you have to know NY, NJ, CT are all on the last easterly direction of the United States. I mean the entire Eastern Seaboard is all also East. But for those of us who live in the Tri-State area when the AC murder's happened and how the bodies were facing East it wasn't far away from 9/11 so it peaked our interest that the heads were facing East. One of victims Kim Raffo was from Long Island so there is that link to RH too.

Once Shannon Gilbert went missing eventually leading to Gilgo Beach it was pretty easy at the time to make that connection to AC. JMO
Actually, any culture is related to East. Ishtar, Mesopotamian goddess = Eostre = Easter. Venus, the goddess of love, rises on the East. The altars of Greek temples faced East. In early Christianity, ad orientum means facing East (during prayers). The garden of Eden was located in the East. In short, the perpetrator could have been of any traditional religion, or a pagan, and still, the East would have a certain meaning to him. I personally wouldn’t think of 9/11 because truly religious people bury the dead differently, but probably, my first thought would be facing Venus, the goddess of love.

That tookme off searching for ritual significance of stacked coconut heads.. My search was fruitless. They might have no meaning at all but no stone should be unturned, methinks.
Not that they don't already have this, whatever it is.. but interesting to explore roads unknown..
