I was looking for something else and found this:

Heuermann was in tears after his arrest, his court appointed attorney, Michael Brown, said Friday.

“I did not do this,” Brown said Heuermann told him during their conversation after his arrest.

Did we know this? I don't remember reading that he was in tears.

RH also destroyed the lives of his immediate family.
I wish them privacy and healing from this time forward.
I'm wondering if he was controlling and abusive to them as well ?
This is so sad for them, esp. his adult children.
They all have to try to get on with their lives under devastating circumstances !
They are not to blame for what Rex did.
Omo.

I remember it being reported. This is the first source that popped up when I googled it just now:

"Heuermann’s court-appointed defense attorney Michael Brown noted his client was crying when the two met and said, 'I didn’t do this.'”

I doubt he is a gambler because he appears greedy, able to do math calculations and understand the net probability of winning. There are some traits in him that many gamblers would have, such as loneliness and social awkwardness (the casinos welcome permanent guests and make them feel desired), so that fits. (And after all, Paddock was greedy and grouchy, too.) But I just don’t see RH leaving a lot of money in the casino.
BBM - Is this for real? My husband and I like to go to the casinos a few times a year and I don't consider us to socially awkward or lonely! I would like know more details about this

I agree. I don't think RH is a gambler and I would even venture that he would look down on gamblers. Not a fact, but speculation. JMO

(By gamblers, I mean money gamblers. He obviously "gambled" in the risks he took as a SK.)
Replying to myself, lol.

Another consideration is that casinos have cameras everywhere. When he traveled to Las Vegas (and possibly AC), I wonder if he even went into casinos at all, if he was there to find victims. Just pondering, thinking aloud.

Lol I wouldn’t worry ~ my husband and I also like to go to the casinos a few times a year, I think they are talking about degenerate gambling addicts that truly frequent casinos and have a gambling addiction problem. If you go a few times a year, I don’t think you’d fall anywhere near that category!

Asa Ellerup, estranged wife of accused Gilgo Beach killer Rex Heuermann, and her son, Christopher Sheridan, outside the family home.
Asa Ellerup and her son, Christopher Sheridan, received a grocery gift package from their neighbors
The handwritten note included in the food delivery.

That is a kind and wonderful gesture by the neighbors. I hope she can feel she can reach out to them if she needs anything. As for the press, they need to take a long hike to somewhere else.

That warms my heart! I can’t imagine what they have been through…

What I’m trying to understand is how long he had had this burner phone? Did he have it for all of those years in between the last known murder until he was arrested? And then he had 10 years in between the murders to when LE had him on their radar since 2022 (1.5 years?) — yet suddenly they believe he’s ready to kill again? It doesn’t seem to add up.
According to MSM (and I am not up to looking for a link, but it has been posted through these threads many times), he got separate burner phones for each victim.

Only RH really knows ALL he did throughout those 10 years....sure once he was definite suspect we can assume he didn't kill.

Details of evidence have been released since he was officially charged (and it's a LOT of detail compared with what we learn in NZ before it gets to Court!)

IMO, multiple investigations will be underway across multiple States - details won't be released until a case can be made.

Then there are the remains that have not even been found...and may never be found. So much unknown - of course!

What we don't know is what makes the details not add up - that's a fact of life.
May I add that Rex was caught buying minutes on a burner phone on May 19th so the task force knew time was of the essence.

Was Rex itching to begin again? Det had already learned a DNA profile from on one of the 11 bottles they removed from his home's trash on FEB 24, 2023 matched the hairs recovered from 3 victims.

"On May 19, 2023, Heuermann was captured on surveillance video purchasing minutes on one of the burner phones."

I wonder just how many burner phones they have discovered he’s had. IMHO, I think they are only telling us about the ones he kept for Megan, Maureen, Melissa and Amber because they also have other evidence (DNA) to back those up. They may have discovered more that they need time to investigate. Again, just my opinion and I’m by no means an expert in any of this.

add arson and animal cruelty to the list
He does look like the type to sit there and rip off the wings of butterflies.

I personally think he was getting ready to go on the hunt again. He was soliciting escorts the whole time LE was surveilling him (and god knows how long before that), his google searches started getting progressively worse and more violent, and he was looking up the victims children in some cases. And then that creepy incident with the girl in the park a few weeks before his capture. All of it just makes me shudder.

.

Apologies if this is already shared. Creepy!

LISK podcast producers get a call from... possibly Rex H., claiming the aquarium owner is LISK.

MOO

Edited to add: I found this video because I recalled Amanda, who got calls from LISK, said that his "s" pronounciation stood out to her. I wanted to listen to him. And yeah, RH has a weird "s."

my mind keeps telling me 7 but I can't find any MSM to support it so it will have to be JMO for now

I agree. I'm glad they stopped him before he killed again. Well that we know of.
