real hair or a cheap toupee? anyone know?

I continue my opinion from when this first came up: they’re not going to let him have a wig. He just has unruly hair.

ok, that makes sense. It looks like his hair doesn't fit his head though. Maybe he shaves his sideburns too high.

Stress and a narcissist who wants what food he wants and not prison food. Or the commissary junk you can get. Who knows what's going on in there but I doubt it's stress making him thin. It might not be helping but IMHO it isn't stress that is slimming his waistline. And for all we know his lawyer got him a waist trainer or something. There's plenty of ways to look better for cameras etc.

EDIT: Actually on closer examination, he looks more weathered, older, droopier in the face not really thinner. His waistline looks the same. And given that people would be losing from your waistline first (more or less) than your face, for him to look that way. Maybe you're right and it is a bit of stress though, if you drink the proper amount of water your face will slim down so maybe he's drinking more in prison than eating which could account for his 'thinner' face. That's one thing that is abundant in lockup, water. Yeah, if you do commissary there's plenty of sugar and salt to go around but if you mostly stick to the 3 meals instead you're filling the gap with water.

This is very much based off my watching 60 days in (I don't take it as an absolute it's still very much a reality show to me and I don't trust reality shows to not be somewhat scripted) I've never been in the prison system or known anyone who was to the degree that we discussed how it was on the inside, and things have changed very much since then any way especially since COVID.

I just get this image of him sitting with his arms folded at a table all alone just being either testy about everything or being treated like some king because he's accused of being an accused serial killer. I don't remember the entire hierarchy of prisons/jail and if I deep dive into a google search right now I feel like my eyes will fall out. I've had a lot more screen time lately and my eyes have been blurry for two days and I think I need a break but I'm desperate to stay caught up with all of you. But...Self care first! Amiright?!
You are right! I did it over the weekend and up to today. It really helps to get refocused.

I imagine not everything that they took from the house, or maybe damaged and/or destroyed at the house while searching was his.

Apart from the damage to bath and floor etc.

There would most likely be things that belonged to his wife and son and daughter's that either been taken away or damaged.

I wonder if her devices were looked at too, and/or taken away.

Imagine going back there and finding the mattresses gone :(

“He added police seized the family's passports, computers, phones and iPads as part of the investigation.

I've never heard of anyone using them for moving home.

You just throw rubbish in them.
Yes the big clean out.
You hire them for a day or two, or a week and the company comes and takes them away.
generally when one moves home, one offloads unnecessary baggage..

Here’s a great article on Burking. When you Burke someone they die by asphyxiation but I understand that you mean a specific act. Burking Law and Legal Definition | USLegal, Inc.

Burking Law and Legal Definition

Burking means the crime of murdering a person, ordinarily by smothering, for thepurpose of selling the corpse.
The term derives its name from the method William Burke and William Hare, the Scottish murder team of the 19th century, used to kill their victims during the West Port murders. They realized that they could provide fresher bodies to medical schools for research by taking people who were intoxicated and suffocating them because they could not resist. That became known as burking. [Titlow v. Burt, 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 111459 (D. Mich. 2010)].
They killed the victims by sitting on their chests and suffocating them by putting a hand over their nose and mouth, while using the other hand to push the victim's jaw up. The corpses had only few visible injuries, and this made the corpses more salable to medical schools.
The following is an example of a case law referring to the term:
The term "burking" was named after William Burke, who along with an accomplice in 1815, killed a number of people and sold their bodies to medical schools in Edinburgh, Scotland. Burke and his accomplice would follow and kill intoxicated individuals by one of them holding a hand over the victim's nose and mouth, while the other would sit on the victim's chest until he or she died of asphyxia. [ Tabish v. State, 119 Nev. 293, 321 (Nev. 2003)].

Oh sorry I misunderstood your post to mean some used it for moving their belongings when they moved home :D

real dyed
If he's as vein and narcissistic as we all suspect, I doubt he would be wearing a grey streaked tupee. If it were a piece, you can bet it would all be the same color. It's his real shaggy disheveled hair IMO

Yes I think he just has unruly hair.

It wouldn't matter how much it was combed, or brushed, or smoothed, it just springs back to how it wants to be.

The look on his face is scary, imo. (And I do realize it's easy to think that, given what he is accused of. Still, he looks scary!)

Before #RexHeuermann left the courtroom today... he paused, looked over at myself and other members of the media in the gallery and then walked out slowly.
[snipped by me]

Looking for family maybe?

Can you explain what "under motions" means please...

Total guess only. A motion hearing to suppress (exclude) his DNA scheduled for 8/15 (odd since all reports say there will be no movement until September?) Can't imagine what the grounds would be though. They surely swabbed him on arrest or immediately after when he was booked I'd think.

On reflection, it seems way too early to have this hearing. So it's odd.

He looks like anyone else that has been accused of being a serial killer. I have read all the pages in the Heuermann threads where people comment what an ogre he is, how scary he looks, how he would look killing the women, etc. He doesn't look scary. He's just tall and heavy set. He doesn't walk weirdly. There was nothing odd about him in the interview with the WEIRDO French guy. There was nothing odd about him in the recorded phone call to whatever her name is.

And Costello's pimp who claimed to have seen his car is lying. Watch the old documentaries, read the old articles about LISK. Not once did he mention a car. Then all of a sudden, 13 years later, a pickup truck appears. Hell, they didn't even report Costello missing back when she was murdered.
8TB might seem like much, but it isn't really. Michael Brown will crush this case easily, just wait and see.

I suspect the real reason for his burner phones is because he has been with prostitutes and wants to keep it a secret from his wife. Some of his search history is pervy but him Googling the Long Island murders and serial killers 200 times is just a pudgy guy being interested in serial murders, especially close to home. Maybe he's a websleuth?

Ironically, it is the women he allegedly contacted for a routine job that ''suddenly becomes not routine, ”then getting ''the phone call''... imo, speculation.

''In a video interview posted on YouTube last year and conducted at his entirely unremarkable-looking office on Fifth Avenue, Mr. Heuermann — tall and heavyset, sporting a toupee-like 1970s haircut and a blue dress shirt with a pen peeking from the pocket — comes across as a recognizable character: the scrappy, street-smart Noo Yawker, the I-got-a-guy guy.''

“When a job that should have been routine suddenly becomes not routine,” he tells the interviewer, Antoine Amira, I get the phone call.”

Can you do me a favor and attach/link said searches so I clearly understand what pervy constitutes. Thank you.
