It's a natural reaction, isn't it?
Imagine being told the man you've considered your father for over 20 yrs being accused of this. The man whose been present every step of your journey into adulthood, the one whose cheered you on, comforted you, corrected you, taught you things. Then he's ripped away from you. Accused of horrifying acts. Torn the life you've known apart. Completely shattered everything you thought you knew about someone you love.

It's just, unreal. Feel so so bad for this family. The person whom they thought they knew, someone who has provided for, cared for and protected them. What a betrayal.

Keep thinking about the conversations that household could have had when these women were found deceased. The fear they could have had about it, and the person that should have comforted them, has been arrested and charged for actually committing these crimes. I just can't wrap my head around it. It's just heartbreaking on so many levels.
So many victims, at the hands of one person.

2 hands.
1 person.
All that emotional and physical destruction.

I totally get what your saying. But, I haven't read anything yet that says RH, a man whose been present every step of their journey into adulthood, the one whose cheered them on, comforted them corrected them, taught them things.

What I've read so far is he is deceitful, double life, murderer who kept his family in squalor.

That's according to Alisa Bernard, a former prostitute who now works with the advocacy group World Without Exploitation as its national campaign manager.

“In my opinion, if women had learned how to screen out bad guys in our lives, we would have started doing that generations ago,” she said, adding, that it’s “a victim blaming way” to point out that the women who were killed “just didn't screen well enough.”

Bernard, who is white, said that most of the people working in the sex industry are disproportionately women of color, LGBTQ folks, and the impoverished.

Similar to some, she did experience sexual abuse in her childhood and she was a teenage runaway.

“Things just kind of led from there,” she added.

Well, sure.

I recall it vaguely from discussions around Joseph James DeAngelo, whose daughter said (originally that is; not quite sure what she said after she'd learned everything), he was a brilliant father, loving and doting, not at all the type of person who aroused a jot of suspicion in her; and criminologists had been like "this is one of the most dangerous mentally unhinged perpetrators we've ever met" for decades.

I was creeped out enough trying to contemplate Rex gaslighting the Barthelemy family with phone calls from Midtown - had he no assistant?!? Nobody in his office quarters who could have walked in on him at any moment??

IIRC, he bought his mother's home in 1994 and opened up his own business in 1994. Got married two years later.
Yes, I read another post that shows the marriage in 1996. It’s taking me several days to get caught up, I guess I screwed up the dates. It seems though that the mid 90s were packed with big life changes for RH.

Yea, I know.
Want the son to know that maybe not all his life was a lie, I guess. There must have been good times. There's got to have been those right? Something good he can hold on to? Idk. It's just crappy for them (being seriously polite there)
How can someone be a complete monster, with no humanity at some point, somewhere? Just don't get it.
Hate the thought of the confusion the son is feeling. Actually can't bear it and it makes me want to cry. It's just, frigging cruel.

The unit is comprised of all women: three female correctional officers in constant search of the signs.

"While they're here, our investigators walk through daily, checking in on them, seeing whatever custody support we can give and then by the end of the week, we take them out and do a one-on-one interview with everyone," Meunkle said.

Slowly, the officers gain their trust, even identifying several sex workers who encountered accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann.

Their interviews assisted the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office in their role in the Gilgo Beach homicide investigation to build a case against Heuermann.

He doesn’t look like a religious guy but I wonder if he was ever ordained a pastor, maybe for civil weddings? Who knows.

I've had a look - spent pennies on looking, and I can't find anything about him being ordained.

May have missed something or maybe a long shot :) (I'm going for long shot jmo) but nothing coming up for me

He was both the owner of Bisset Nursery and co-owner of The Long Island Aquarium.
Ah, thank you. Either I forgot that or never knew.

I’m curious about his ability to parent in a safe space kind of way. Has it been reported that he was emotionally available for healthy bonding with his family?

I think it's interesting that his wife has never said she believes he's innocent.

Didn't LE say the calls were made outdoors in crowded areas such as Times Square at lunchtime so that even though they could trace the calls there, there was no way to tell who was on the phone.

Is there a source for this latter item in quotes?

Granted I am not a neighbor, but the real estate and any dwelling has value, and it wouldn’t seem that it is up to anyone other than the owner what might occur with the property. It would seem that the spouse and children have rights to obtain value if the premises are vacated or sold or transferred.

And to my recollection there have been no reports or threat of imminent domain? IMO.

PS…. I now have referred back to the article - by stepping back through the links. Still IMO deplorable if others are calling for such. I do not believe any rash decisions should be made by any.

I doubt very highly AE could be compelled to leave her home. The village would have to tie itself in legal knots to claim the community's needs exceed her squatters rights. It would be a very uphill battle for the village if they pursued it and AE resisted just a little bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if the village bids high, though. They already know what happened nearby in a nearby town. People still drive by an infamous house.

It seems to me she originally thought so, as she was characterized as shocked when shown evidence.

Her immediate action of filing for divorce answers that question for me. Although, she could also just be distancing herself and the children from an ugly situation that’s likely to continue for some time.

I'm more or less saying that Schaller might be lying about something. And I don't think Heuermann is LISK. A more likely suspect is Bittrolff. There's that odd little connection between Rita Tangredi's daughter and Melissa Barthélemy. They were the best of friends.
Go back and review the case. How do you explain his wife’s hair on 3 victims? His hair on 1 victim? A belt had his Grandfather’s initials. The victim’s phones, his cell phone(s) and his burner phones pinging in the same locations. This evidence overwhelming points to Heurermann.

I couldn’t even properly screen a husband that I knew since high school so I don’t expect them to have any better insight.

How many of those 15.136 possible matches also have DNA in their household that matchs the other DNA found with the victims (Heuermann's)??

You're the stats/% puller - can you let me now? How many Long Island household's have DNA that match both him and her within them ... because DNA from both of them was found.

I failed Grade 10 math and had to repeat, but I think the answer really dwindles down that 15.136 to ... ONE household.shed hair
all they had to do was go to the garden center or the sports store together and shed hair on the burlap...or maybe just one of them could have shed hair off their clothing. As far as the DNA, RH would have a better defense if he had a lot of cocktail parties and there was more cross contamination, IMO. But the whole burner phone thing - how to explain that away?
