I’ve followed this case from the beginning, researched all the gory UID cases and the named cases, looked at the publicly available details and photos, discussed theories, felt all along that Gilgo and Manorville were the work of the same killer or group of killers (like a group that got pleasure out of watching or competing or working in tande, etc) but what I heard today has made me so distraught. You’d think after all this time discussing and researching the gory outcomes we’d be almost immune to the truth coming out. But these detailed sadistic facts in the planning documents are just too horrifying and sad. I’ve always hoped that the worst things done to these young people was done post mortem.

However, when we are now faced with the sadistic torture that RH inflicted before, during and after death... it's beyond anything we could have imagined. His planning, his preparations, his hunting, his hideous thrill of torture and death... the truth that's akin to or even beyond hell.

I've felt terrible mentally/emotionally all day but I came to the conclusion he would likely love knowing how his evil actions makes us all feel. I'm sickened by him but I refuse to give his hellish ego another stroke. I don't want him to be satisfied ever again by anything.

ETA: I hope those who truly loved the victims can stay strong.

IIUC, Jessica suffered 25 sharp force injuries and they were postmortem.

She was already dead, so what was the motivation behind so many sharp force assaults? Rage, anger, hate? If so, against whom? If not, was it unspent excitement? Or, was it more practical - like his detailed written out plans - blows intended for cutting up her body for transportation and disposal?

I know there are questions regarding his siblings... a nyt article mentioned 2 sisters.Ancestry mentions 2 sisters, one who got married in VT . Other articles only mention one brother.

When I was listening to a stunned and flabbergasted Joe and Josh read RH's written instructions he wrote to himself all that kept going through my mind was this was RH's foreplay and I mean that as literally as it gets.

I get the sense that RH is very connected to word and plans on paper. It’s not a surprise for an architect and reportedly, this guy has practically committed to memory obscure and differing rules and regulations relevant to buildings built over a long span of years in NYC. So, to me, the attempt to think of everything and to write it all out fits with that aspect of his personality.

What I am having a hard time getting my head around is his relationship to his victims. The sadism - torturing them while they are living with the overlying threat that they will ultimately die - seems like an over-connection - kind of Bundy-like. Like these women are substitutes for someone he feels primal rage toward and he is acting that out on them and gaining satisfaction or relief from their suffering. But, the postmortem sharp force injuries and the kind of experimenting with methodology, seems more Dahmer-like - totally disassociated from the humanity of the victims, like they are as meaningless as words on paper and he is curiously exploring them.

ETA: it may be that RH is very proud of what he has accomplished and that he has escaped notice for so long.

You, @justk, and others were on this case before I arrived in 2012. It's been a long, tough journey - wading through so much info, rabbit holes, people, theories, etc (lots of etc) all these years to end up where we are today.
I don't think I've ever said anything "eloquently" in my life My late mother would be proud... she tried. Thank you!

I think some were related to his attempt to remove her "Remy's Angel" tattoo. The other wounds were sexual-sadistic.

Reading Rex's notes on "HK 2002-2004" He mentions "Problems" he's had.
Among them is "police stop" and "truck stuck".

I am wondering if LE has looked into Security Guard (presumably in uniform) who claimed that they saw a dark green ford expedition on the side of Ocean Parkway and asked if they needed help. The driver shooed them off and they claimed to leave the scene when the man in the passenger seat gave them a mean look. Claimed this was July of 2003.
It would be of note if this has any merit.

Jessica Taylor was murdered in July 2003.
