JMO there is a good chance these items came from the victims home. I'm not familiar with this victims case, were the items ever tested for DNA? I am not convinced that this was RH. Jmo.

Oh, I definitely think he may have known of the Oak Beach parties, may have even been there or stalked Shannon and took advantage of the situation. I believe Shannon was murdered. I’m not sure how long she was kept before being dumped right in the area that LE supposedly searched in May of 2010.

His mother moved to Virginia in 1994 and I believe that’s when he took ownership of it- his boyhood home. Not too long before that time he was living in the house he had shared with his first wife.

I’m curious about something I believe was covered in the "Gone Girls" documentary. IIRC there was a (former?) call girl who described being taken to a basically empty home with lawn chairs (?) & a TV & long story short, she didn’t feel comfortable how things were going & ran out while the customer, allegedly RH, was upstairs doing something. I want to say she mentioned she thought there may have been someone else there as well, possibly upstairs or heard noises indicating as such. Forgive me if I’m misremembering details as I’m going from memory…

Does anyone know where that place was located? Curious if it is known & if it is along known routes RH may have travelled during his extracurricular activities. This encounter seems to me that it would be quite a valuable piece of information on which to follow up, similar to the male roommate of the RH victim who described him as an ogre.

My apologies for any wrong info, as I’ve not followed this case closely & just pick up bits & pieces here & there as I see new developments.

I'm watching the Netflix "Gone Girls" documentary today. I'm nearly through Ep. 2 and haven't seen that yet, but will let you know.

"Gone Girls" is a very good documentary so far. They've done great research, rely a lot on local news media/reporters who first covered the case and are reporting the full story, including all the problems with Sussex Co PD and the overall investigation.

ETA: Now realizing I should take notes while watching this docu. It has a lot of information, some of which is new to me. If you haven't watched it yet, you really should.

Beginning of episode 3 is when the young woman discusses being lured to a townhome with a strange man, no furniture, two lawn chairs, etc.

My only issue with the documentary was the Philadelphia story. I can almost guarantee you with 99% certainty that he would never hunt that far from his comfort zone. He also isn't going to pick up a target at a bar with security cameras and witnesses. The story is also pretty movie-esque. He brings her back to a stash house and she heroically escapes. Give me a break.

I don't doubt the woman is being honest, she seemed genuinely afraid and really doesn't have anything to gain by going public. It's possible she later saw Rex's mug shot and confused him with the guy who took her to the empty house. I don't rule out any of these stories, though, if the women seem sincere and if John Ray has checked them out.

There have been too many unusual developments in the LISK murders and investigation of Heuermann to discount much. There have been a few things many thought he didn't do but later found out otherwise. The guy was quite prolific and operated for a very long time. His MO changed as he gained more experience and became even more bold and depraved.

About 20 minutes into the third episode, the documentary is detailing how LE is putting together that the original Gilgo 4 all went missing while RH’s family was out of town on vacation. One of the women being interviewed states that they would go on vacation & on occasion RH would join them a week or so later. Thank you. I was wondering about that. It doesn’t seem a stretch for him to have spent time in the Philly/NJ area. He also may have traveled to these areas for business or other trips. It’s really up to Suffolk County PD to investigate this. I recall really early after his arrest, it was reported that he once owned a condo in New Jersey. ICBW, but am looking for some reference.

Some of the MO described by the victim seems different, esp. that the perp kept discussing young teens, boys and girls. Some of it does fit him, e.g. luring the victim to a residence. I don't doubt her story, but it may not have been RH.

There's a saying in law enforcement: Ask 10 people, get 10 different stories. A group of people could witness an event up close, in broad daylight, and you'd still get different variations of what happened, ranging from small differences to huge ones.

As for the Philadelphia story, it just doesn't track with the behavior of serial killers like Rex Heuermann. These men operate around anchor points. In Rex's case, those anchor points are NYC and Long Island.
