Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

It's the difference between a plea and IMO a plea bargain. No reason to offer or accept a plea bargain from him IMO.

It's possible IMO that he might just plead guilty. Because he is. And the evidence is there and he knows it.

He might be quite satisfied with the damage he's already done.

I wonder if a condition of pleading guilty might be that he will tell them all the others in exchange for him remaining exactly where he is. It might be lonely in a cell by himself and getting only a half or whole hour out a day, but I'll bet it's cushy compared to the prison life.

So, perhaps he could remain where his family can easily visit while he drags out his time in jail instead of prison?

Naturally, sometime he would have to go, but I'll bet he could drag things out for a long time.

I also wonder if it’s possible that he has embarrassing or incriminating information. He was active in the underground swinger and sex for hire world for decades. It might not help him much, but it might help his wife and their kids in some way. That’s the only leverage he might have based on our limited knowledge of his activities.

Exactly.

If he pleas, it will be just that, a guilty plea. There will be nothing in exchange except avoiding the trial, imo.

It's possible Mr. Bureaucrat who prides himself on working the system realizes the evidence is stacked against him and there is no loophole for him to use to get out of the charges. He might see seven guilty verdicts are inevitable and there is no benefit to him to go to trial.

Or, he might go full steam ahead fighting the charges only to lose.

I say no way he pleads guilty. no way. I will be shocked. he will fade into oblivion..I think he wants to hear and see what he is accused of, wants to see the remains, the photos, all the evidence...he wants to hear the speculations on the methods of the murders. he wants to see the jury squirm. he wants it on the news. I don't think he cares what his family goes through. He can never say they have the wrong man if he pleads guilty..if he pleads no contest..well still..

no I think he wants his trial food, trial clothes, trial trips, trial attention.

He's the big King daddy of the SK's right now..Guilty pleas are for sissies like Kohberger.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
Oh no!
What in heaven will AE and Brown do then?
All along they both have claimed his innocence.

RH claimed in that letter to chad daybell (article up thread, from notably from 2023) that his was the only letter he had responded to. (i believe this letter is the one where he asks Daybell about the food in prison vs jail).

I find it telling that he had only written back to CD. That’s of course if it’s true and not just flattery (“I bet you say that to all the killers” ☺️) . Seems he considers other killers to be his peers. JMO

Chad Daybell?
What am I missing here?

I'm imagining him... all this time in prison... studying every detail like a lawyer, trying to slip through the cracks in the law, like he used to do in his job before.
I don't think this guy will confess anything, or maybe that's just my biggest fear...
Because I bet he'd have so much to say that we'd all have so much more to write...

Do you mean Keith Jesperson (The Happy Face Killer)?

Keith Jesperson, the serial killer known as the “Happy Face Killer,” is speaking from behind bars, telling NewsNation correspondent Laura Ingle about letters he has exchanged with Rex Heuermann, the man accused in the Gilgo Beach killings. In a recorded conversation, Jesperson told Ingle that Heuermann should confess if he did in fact commit the crimes. Ingle joins “Banfield” to discuss her phone call with Jesperson.
2023
''Heuermann told Jesperson he had been inundated with letters and requests.

'You were right about letter - I have gotten a number of them, asking for interviews, to be friends, pen pals, and one guy who sent me three letters asking me to write back to add to his collection of letters,' wrote Heuermann.
Heuermann told Jesperson that he was the only person he had replied to.
'So it sounds like OSP (Oregon State Prison) is not such a bad place to be,' he continued.
'Do you have butter for your bread? How is the day-to-day food - I will admit that food on SCCF (Suffolk County Correctional Facility) is not much to look forward to each day.
'Also yard is just walking in circles outside.'

That's exactly how I picture him too.

Good luck with that, Rex.
