"Some of the statements they have made indicate that they have such callous disregard for the victims that they're making a profit," said Miller Place attorney John Ray, who is representing Torres. "They're earning money by that callousness and by that disregard of the victims' sensibilities. They shouldn't be given money for that."

Ray has also represented the estate of Shannan Gilbert, the New Jersey woman whose disappearance set off a law enforcement search that led to the discovery of the bodies of several of the victims.
Robert Macedonio, an Islip Terrace attorney who has represented Ellerup and Victoria Heuermann since Rex Heuermann's July 2023 arrest, said his clients had no knowledge of the killings.

"This has been a decade of Johnny Ray trying to keep himself relevant in a case that his original client, Shannan Gilbert, had no involvement in," Macedonio said on Monday night. "I reiterate strenuously that my clients, Asa Ellerup and Victoria Heuermann, had no involvement whatsoever in any of the alleged crimes of Rex Heuermann."

Ellerup has not been accused of any involvement in her ex-husband's crimes and law enforcement officials contend the killings occurred when his family, including wife and daughter, were traveling out of town.
But the lawsuit nonetheless contends they were complicit in Heuermann's alleged '
Very sick individual, hopefully justice prevails

We know that in civil suits the bar is quite low for presenting evidence so what will happened to the evidence Tierney collected against RH if he pleads guilty?
Is evidence always available from criminal trials to the victim/families civil lawuits no matter if the suspect was found guilty at trial, made a guilty plea deal or just pled guilty w/o a deal or acquitted?

Or can the judge from the criminal cases seal the evidence then of course the victim would have to file a motion trying to get it unsealed?

The good thing is that the lawsuit addresses money from future sales so I gather that's any TV movie like a Netflix etc and/or a follow-up to the Peacock documentary or books by the family.
Like if she was paid or given permission for old any footage of her to be used, personal, from peacock or new footage for movie or another documentary?

If she wanted more money I can see AE eventually doing a part #2 Peacock documentary on how she missed all the signs because RH was such a wonderful. loving husband and father even though they won't mention or play the interview of Macedonio saying that she had wanted to divorce him and of course Macedonio never mentioning why.

'Heurmann’s family reportedly made out with more than $1 million for letting the documentary crew get exclusive access to their home and lives, Newsday reported.

Ellerup has never been accused of involvement in Heuermann’s crimes, and authorities said the murders occurred when his family was not home — but Torres’s lawsuit made the bombshell claim that the wife and daughter were complicit in Mack’s death.'

Sources previously told The Post that Brown and Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney are hashing out a plea deal for Heuermann to cop to the seven murders at his Wednesday appearance in Suffolk County Court.''

Yep.
It all will be hanging over their heads for years and years to come.
I'm waiting on Bob Macedonio to claim that AE is in dire straights and in such a precarious situation due to her having been married to a serial killer, her mental and physical health and medical bills and what little money she has won't even be enough to continuing to supporting her and her son who has mental challenges, not mentioning the govt check he likely receives for his disabilities.
She isn't even able to work too.

Benjamin Torres, the grown son of murder victim Valerie Mack, is seeking money from Heuermann, his ex-wife and his daughter.

He cites the murder itself, saying Mack endured terror, restraint, pain and mutilation.

Torres also wants money the Heuermanns could make from selling their story.

He named Heuermann's daughter Victoria for dismissing the murders as "kink" behavior.

There's and old saying: It's a necessary evil. Benjamin Torres is spot on. But this is going to get bad, bad and ugly.

I wonder if BT will appear at court and speak tomorrow? I think this will be a very active news day on Long Island !
I don't think nothing could hold him back at this point.

Heuermann, 62, of Massapequa Park, is expected to admit to the 1996 killing of Karen Vergata, a Manhattan mother of two whose remains were found west of Gilgo Beach and on Fire Island more than a decade apart. The plea hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. before State Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei in Riverhead.

I love it. No denial from Macedonia that his clients have participated in profiting from Rex's crimes. Because Macedonia is perhaps the person who has profited the most from Rex Heuermann's crimes.

He's odious. He did less damage trafficking cocaine.

In the Peacock docuseries The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets (released June 2025), Victoria addressed the sexual claims against her father by stating, "I’m not a kink shamer" and "everybody is into what they’re into."

I remember I had to pick up my mouth off the floor. How she referred to what happened, I found deeply offensive. 😡

I was astonished at that quote, but thought of it as evidence to how much damage was done to the speaker, and how clueless she was to the gravity of what has happened in her inner circle.

Until SDS71 posted, I hadn't considered how awful those words are to surviving children and family.

I am especially broken hearted for the children who grew up without mothers for these crimes.

"The daughter of accused Gilgo Beach murderer Rex Heuermann has dismissed at least some of the twisted sex claims against him, saying, “I’m not a kink shamer” — while revealing if she thinks Dad is a serial killer.

“You know, everybody is into what they’re into,” Victoria Heuermann,
28, told the new Peacock docu-series, “The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets” — her first interview since her dad, a married father of two, was arrested nearly two years ago after allegedly sexually torturing sex workers and murdering seven of them on Long Island.

“At this point, like, after everything that has happened, I’m like, I’m not somebody to say, ‘Hey, you shouldn’t be into this,’ or, ‘You should,’ ” Victoria told the show, which begins airing Tuesday.'

BREAKING LISK UPDATE

My sources are telling me that tomorrow’s expected change of plea by Rex Heuermann in the Long Island Serial Killer case may include an additional victim - extending his allocation to an 8th victim who has yet to be publicly linked to Rex Heuermann by the Gilgo Beach Task Force. Those details expect to be revealed *for the first time* in court tomorrow. Stay tuned.

What made VH claim this about her father?

"The suspect — whose daughter described him as a “true-crime fan” — is now awaiting trial in the sensational case."

Elizabeth Smart had Stockholm to an extreme degree.

Here's the difference, in M00. She participated in the Netflix documentary "Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart" to reclaim ownership of her story and advocate for other survivors.

She views these projects as a way to take back power from their captors and use the money for therapy or to help other victims.
I have yet to see Asa or Victoria at any time advocate for the victims or their families. Especially after RH plead guilty.

She explicably said she needed to hear directly from him to believe he was responsible, often blaming the evidence as not definitive. Well, now she has heard it directly from him and his lawyers.

It's been almost 2 weeks since RH stated his guilt and Asa has never spoke up for the victims.
