Grant Imahara of ‘MythBusters’ dies at 49

“MythBusters” host Grant Imahara died suddenly Sunday of unknown causes, The Hollywood Reporter learned. He was 49.

“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant,” a representative for Discovery said in a statement on Monday, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”

R.I.P. Grant. My daughter and I got to meet him and Kari 9 years ago on a field trip with her elementary school. They happened to be filming an episode of Mythbusters at the lake we were at and came over to meet our group. Such a tragedy. Him and Naya Rivera within days of each other. So not fair that only the good die young. It has been revealed that he died of an aneurysm.

He was my favorite. Stupid aneurysms! They took my favorite aunt, too.

How incredibly sad! He was a brilliant and talented man. I loved the robot, Geoff, that he made for the Craig Ferguson Show.

A terrible loss, my sympathies to his family and friends.
