The daughters of a British grandmother who vanished in Greece have made a desperate plea for help finding her, saying hopes of finding her alive are "diminishing by the day".

Susan Hart, 75, had been visiting the Greek island of Kalymnos with her husband, Ed, and a group of friends when she disappeared on 30 April.

The couple, originally from Bath, live in Switzerland and had been visiting the island for around eight years.

Her daughter Bethan Blackwell has told the Mirror that hopes of finding her mother alive are “diminishing by the day”.

Ms Blackwell said that, although Ms Hart has not received a formal diagnosis, she and her sisters believe their mother has dementia as she suffers from memory loss.

She explained that Ms Hart vanished after she and her husband took a 10-minute ferry to visit the secluded island of Telendos.

The 75-year-old’s husband went off to do some rock climbing while his wife had planned to read a book at a restaurant. However, when they returned Ms Hart was not there.

A woman from Bath is missing after a holiday on a Greek Island.

Susan Hart was away with her husband, Ed, when she disappeared on 30 April.

They were on a ferry trip to Tolendos from the island where they were staying, Kalymnos. Susan then reportedly left her to do some rock climbing with a friend while Susan planned to head off to a restaurant to wait for him.

When Ed came back from rock climbing, she was missing.

A woman who went missing on holiday on a Greek island three weeks ago has been found dead in a remote area.

Susan Hart, 74, from Bath, was in Telendos with her husband, Ed, when she disappeared on 30 April.

Her family said she had planned to read a book while her husband went rock climbing but then could not be found.

Hart’s daughter, Ruth Landale, said her mother had been showing symptoms of dementia over the last few years but had not yet received a diagnosis.

The family were heartbroken, she said, adding: “It’s been a stressful and distressing time for the whole family.”

A postmortem examination is expected to take place in Greece before Hart’s body can be repatriated to Switzerland, where she was living.

Hart has three daughters who grew up in Bath but now live in Canada, Australia and London with their young families. She had four grandchildren.

In an appeal for information last week, her family said they felt the local police had been “obstructing” the search and the British consulate had been “pretty powerless” to help.

They said the police had “lied” to them about search and rescue dogs assisting the search from the beginning – they did not arrive, she said, until nine days after Hart’s disappearance, after the family were subsequently told to arrange it themselves.
