Someone has a future at F1!

Look out, Lewis Hamilton!

He is only 10 and already charged with a felony. Somehow I don't think Nascar is what is in his future.

I really dislike the title of 'he was a good driver' of an article like this. Not talking to you , OP, but to the writers of this article. He could have seriously hurt someone or himself, and it seems to be being glib about the whole thing. And secondly, he definitely was not a good driver.

I'm glad he is getting charged, but also wonder if the parents shouldn't hold some responsibility too. I can't see the OP one because it's behind a paywall but another article has some of the 911 calls and it sounds like the mom was chasing him. Did she call 911 or try to stop him herself, probably also driving a ridiculous speed. Not to mention there is an admitted history of him doing this, so more safety precautions should be taken.

Kid obviously needs some help, though, so hopefully he can get that.

"The boy’s mother told police he had taken the car because he was “bored.”

Increasing chores might help with the boredom.... just a thought.

I agree with you; he was a good driver.......until he wasn’t.

The 10 yr old could barely see over the dashboard to steer! He was like 3ft tall!

It’s a miracle no one got hurt or killed!

Well, NASCAR and F1 are two very different things.

And also, he is 10.

geez.

Yes, at 10, from what has been reported, this was the second time he took the car, he was driving without a license, police had to chase him, reportedly he is being charged with a felony, and the conclusion is-he will be a race car driver (I really don't think it matters if its F1 or Nascar is suggested as his likely future, I don't think that's the issue here).
Jeez.

Good morning ATasteOfHoney,

I absolutely agree- it is certainly a miracle no one was injured or killed.

It is astonishing to me that this went on for an hour!

It's a second time in two weeks that he took the car, according to the article. Thankfully nobody got hurt these two times. But if he does it again, either he or someone else might not be so lucky.
