HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities are again asking for the public’s help to find a missing woman on Hawaii Island.

Hawaii Police and CrimeStoppers have renewed calls for the public to be on the lookout for 42-year-old Jennifer Showden.

Officials say the Pahoa woman was last seen and heard from back in July of 2022.

She had moved to Hawaii from Montana with two young sons, said police.

Officials said the boys are now back on the mainland with family.

Showden is described as 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with darkish-blond hair.

Call Hawaii PD with any tips.

I literally cannot find anything on Jennifer going missing other than the article linked above? I'm going to keep digging ...

ETA-
UGHHHH - couldn't find anything because the story I linked above has the spelling wrong on her last name!!

It's Jennifer Showen, not Showden. Mods can you change the thread title please?

Hawai‘i Island police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in locating 42-year-old Jennifer Michelle Showen, of the Hawaiian Shores subdivision in Pahoa.

Showen has not been seen or heard from by her family and friends since July 2022, and they are deeply concerned for her welfare. Originally from Montana, Showen relocated to the island several years ago with her two young sons. The boys are back in Montana with family.

She is described as 5 feet 7-inches tall, 150 pounds, with dirty-blondish hair. The red Hummer H3 that she owned and operated has since been located and recovered.

Police ask anyone with any information on Showen’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or Captain Rio Amon-Wilkins of the Area I Criminal Investigation Division at (808) 961-2251 or email [Rio dot Amon-Wilkins at hawaiicounty dot gov].

It's now been one year, with no further information...

I just Googled "Pahoa" and learned that it's a super tiny community, like just over 900 residents. You would think someone would have seen or known something about this case.

I also stumbled upon this article from 2014. It seems that Jennifer's husband had some violent tendencies throughout the years. I really, really hope that Jennifer did not fall victim to them.

Jennifer's case is one of the three mentioned in this article.

April 23, 2025

Police detectives are renewing their request for information regarding three separate missing person investigations over the past few years in the Puna district.

*****
Over the course of these investigations, detectives “have conducted countless interviews, completed forensic analysis of cellphone and financial records, and followed up on numerous tips from the public,” according to a press releae.

Although not confirmed, police do suspect foul play might be involved in each of these cases.
