Saw a friend this evening, and she told me that her company went to a local hotel in Michigan were a lot of evacuees are staying. Told them they had plenty of manufacturing jobs open, and all they need to do was show up at this certain time, and then take a whiz quiz (drug test), and a job was waiting for them.

Not a single person showed up.

I have heard that the same thing happened in another state also. Unbelievable isn't it!!

Yeah lilpony, you probably read it in our local papers.

The ones staying at the Dream Center aren't wanting to work either. Hey, and they can't say the have no transportation as there's all kinds of Public Transportation in Los Angeles.

My son told me, he is in the coast guard, and they went to one of the shelters. And found out this information. No one was in line for a job, only in line for their welfare checks.:(
This was Texas

I believe it though!! A lot of people think they can have everything for free. There are times when it makes my blood boil...:(

Well, on another thread a while back we discussed this, and I say "those that had jobs before Katrina and want to work will, those that didn't work, won't".

Unfortunately, they will end up on other State Welfare roles now!
