Prolific actor and legend amongst fans of horror, actor Tony Todd passed away at age 69 in LA. From Platoon, The Night of the Living Dead, The Crow, to his icon status as the titular character of Candyman in the film series, and recurring role in the Final Destination series, Tony Todd played complicated and compelling roles, good guys and bad guys with depth and feeling. He was a personal favourite of mine for his recurring role in Star Trek The Next Generation as Kurn, the noble, brave Klingon Defense Force Officer, bother of Commander Worf, and Hell Fest, a horror film where he played the impresario of a Halloween Haunted Attraction, which was a nod to his towering (literal and emotional) presence as a horror legend. I was fortunate enough to meet Mr Todd at a convention appearance. He was incredibly handsome, clever, funny, kind and friendly, pleased to chat with fans long after he was scheduled to! Rest In Peace, Tony Todd, haunting nightmares and inspiring dreams in your fans.
