Giant pockets of methane that have become trapped under the plastic liners in multi-million gallon manure lagoons at Goltstein's farm. The bubbles, which first appeared in 2006, are already 20 feet high and could inflate even more even more as the bovine waste continutes to break down and release more methane, according to The Wall Street Journal.http://theweek.com/article/index/201334/Should_America_fear_its_giant_poop_bubbles

EWWW! I can't even imagine the stench!! I was at the Labrea Tar Pits awhile back and couldn't stand the small amount of methane you smell there that's bubbling up through the ground. I bet this place smells a thousand times worse!! EWWW!!
