Mr. Higgins was last seen by his family around October 1 and, due to some unusual circumstances surrounding his disappearance, we have put out a missing persons report for him. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 27-year-old Iowa man with autism is missing after boarding a bus headed to Minneapolis early this month.

On Tuesday, a missing person alert was issued for Alonzo Higgins of Mason City, Iowa. He was last seen boarding the bus on October 1, and was supposed to return home on Friday, October 5 but did not arrive.

The Mason City Police Department says Higgins traveled to Minneapolis by bus and then took aplace to Los Angeles. He called his family from a homeless shelter and family members are making arrrangements to reunite on Friday.

His sister LaSaundra told me via Facebook Messenger that he went to check out a school that he was interested in attending. Really that is all the family knows at this point. LaSaundra said that they wanted him to talk about it when he was ready and not push him. He is on a plane headed back to Minneapolis as we speak. His sister said she would contact me tomorrow if she has any updates for my "Found" video.
