Geraldine Maggert disappeared on March 22, 1968. She was seen leaving her apartment and carrying a suitcase just before noon. She then went to her local bank, where she withdrew funds. Her nearly nude body was discovered in a wooded ravine near the Coralville reservoir in Johnson County on Saturday, April 6, 1968. Boy Scout troops hiking about four miles northeast of North Liberty stumbled upon the body at a popular party and picnic area known as “The Rock.” An autopsy showed the Cedar Rapids woman died from a beating and exposure; she also was about three months pregnant. Her car was found at the Cedar Rapids airport. The case is still unsolved with only ocassional leads.
Here are some articles with many details on the case:

Unsolved (Geraldine Lempke Maggert)

Since the Cedar Rapids authorities have solved a 39 year old murder case perhaps they might also look into this one as well. If DNA exists or could be found with an exhumation. I am curious if this could have something to do with abortion related activity. Paula Olberbrecking is also theorized to have perished after a botched abortion in Cedar Rapids. Her body was tossed out on a rural road in Linn County. It was decomposed and no determination could be accurately made.

I wonder if John Norman Collins or his associates in Michigan might have been involved in any of these 1968 unsolved Iowa murders? :
