Authorities ask for help locating missing Fredericksburg man

James Louis Boyd was last seen around 2 p.m. on Monday at the Waverly Walmart. They say he was driving a red Dodge Ram 1500 truck with a license plate number of GV 327, and wearing bib overalls with a blue jacket and dark ball cap. Boyd has a mustache and wears glasses.

I am praying for him to have a blanket of protection too. We are going through those concerns with my Mom now too. She is 88, and she keeps stealing her car keys back from my brother and taking her car for a spin. Very scary because although she did pass her driving test, she has been losing her short term memory lately.

And I can see how James Boyd may have suddenly forgotten where he was headed, or how he could get home. I just hope he stops somewhere safe and warm and someone helps him figure it out.

Search continues for missing Chickasaw Co. man with confusion issues
He is still missing this morning. Hopefully he is found before the next round of winter weather hits the area later today.

Authorities looking for 86-year-old man; may be confused or disoriented

Boyd was driving a red Dodge Ram 1500 truck with Iowa plates GV 327. He's described as a white man 5'8", 225 pounds, with grey hair and a mustache. He has a stocky build and was last seen wearing bib overalls, a blue jacket, a dark pullover sweater and a dark-colored ball cap. He also wears glasses.

Where would he "go back to"? I mean is there a special home from his past, a church, some significant place that's stayed in his heart and stories he's told throughout life? Is he a veteran? If so, check the cemeteries for him. He may have gone to talk to an old service buddy.

Did he hunt or fish or ski or any other hobby that would take him to a nature preserve (bird watchers) or to a rural location? I ask because sometimes memory issues will have the MP longing for home or past exeriences/places. I'll keep adding questions as they pop into my coffee starved brain.

According to the New Hampton Police Department’s Facebook page, James Boyd has been found and is safe. The department thanks the public for spreading the word to help locate him.
