Police search for 18-year-old central Iowa woman with autism

• Hispanic female, 5 ft tall and 130 pounds.
• Brown eyes and black hair.
• Last seen about 7:50 p.m. Friday near her home in the area of Fifth and Hughes streets, Marshalltown IA.
• She is autistic, has limited communication skills and few relationships outside of family.
• She has been known to walk away from her home, but has never been missing for this long.
• LE has focused on her neighborhood and there's a wooded area not far from there.

• Last seen wearing a gray shirt and light colored blue jeans.

Police still searching for missing teen She is still missing and also has seizures and is without her medication. This is not good! Also her last name is spelled RAYA according to the police department.

• Social media speculation suggesting Jazmin is staying with a friend or boyfriend is unfounded. There is no evidence to suggest this is true.
• Ground and water searches have been conducted and are ongoing in the area where Jazmin was last seen.
• Police request that residents check their properties including outbuildings, vehicles, and unsecured buildings.

Hi Otto. She is still missing as of today, Monday July, 8. According to the article in the Des Moines Register she has gone missing in the past and was found or came home home on her own in a very short amount of time. IMO-it must be unusual for her to be gone this long and not come home thus the attention she is getting in the media and from LE now.

The Marshalltown Police Department regretfully reports Jazmin Reyes Raya, age 18, was found deceased today just before 10:00 a.m. Her body was located in a remote area of the Iowa River, about 500 yards northwest of the North Center Street bridge area. At this time, there is no evidence or information that indicates criminal activity is connected to this missing person/death investigation. However, this is still an active investigation and all possible scenarios will be thoroughly investigated.

A press conference is not being planned at this time. No other public information is available for release.
