Authorities say 41-year-old Wendee Chalupa, who faces a contempt of court charge, was sent to Mercy Hospital to be evaluated for a medical condition.

A detainer had been placed on her, meaning Mercy staff was asked to contact the Linn County Sheriff's Office when she was to be released from the hospital.
But authorities say she left the hospital without consent around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
