This is very, very sad news I grew up with Ms. Day’s music playing at both my Grandparents homes. My Nana asked for it’s magic to be played at her funeral. Ms. Day was an incredible actress and singer and so kind to animals.

May Doris Day Rest In Peace.

A lifelong fan here and when younger I used to envision growing
up and having an animal sanctuary just like she did.
She was truly a good hearted person and thousands of animals
have benefited from her generosity. Such a loss.

Such a beautiful and talented lady. I’ve read thru the years she would stand at her balcony and wave to her seemingly ever-present fans. She had such a kind persona and always was classy. I really am sad that she has passed. RIP Doris.

That is correct she always had time for her fans. Ms Day was a class act she will be greatly missed.

I've always just loved Doris Day. Thanks to TCM, I get to see so many of her movies, and there is always another one to find. Some are pretty silly or simple, but there is always something about her that clearly makes her the star, even up against some pretty impressive actors like Jimmy Stewart or George Sanders.

I'm so sorry she's passed, but I'm glad we have her on film to hear that lovely sunny voice and happy face

I remember watching Please Don't Eat The Daisys as a kid. It was not a new movie but run on late night tv. So campy but a great moment to see a female character be fun and funny. RIP Doris.

Since she only had one grandchild and maybe a great niece, I
wonder if the bulk of her estate will go to her animal foundation.
