Brian Ekman and his 14-year-old yellow lab, Cheech, left to go on a ride at about 4 p.m. Friday, but have not been seen since.

Ekman is known to ride in the areas of Gold Fork, Paddy Flat, and West Mountain areas in Valley County. The Polaris that Ekman was driving had a rack and red gas can attached to it.

The dog can be identified by the tumors on its body.

Missing Valley County man found dead in Lake Cascade

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office said a citizen spotted Ekman's Polaris General in about ten feet of water near the south of Boulder Creek boat launch, and called dispatch. The missing man's body was inside the UTV.

Detectives say it appears that Ekman's Polaris got stuck in the sand on the steep embankment, then rolled into the lake.

Cheech was not found, authorities say, and there did not appear to be any dog tracks in the sand.

:( I was hoping he might have been found by now. I hope his dear master didn't suffer too much, and hope Cheech is now safe, whether in this world or the next.
