Nampa, ID (CBS2) — Police are searching for a missing and endangered man named Jay Hartsock.

Jay was last seen fishing below the Lake Lowell dam near Riverside and Lowell near Caldwell.

Jay is an 85- year-old, six foot, 200 lbs, white male with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, and possibly a camel sweatshirt.

CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — Canyon County Sheriff's Office reports that the body of a missing and endangered Caldwell man has been recovered from a canal early Wednesday morning.



Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. 85-year-old Jay Hartsock was reported missing after not returning home from a fishing trip near the lower dam on Lake Lowell.

At around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning Deputies discovered Hartsock's body in a canal near Hwy 19 and Allendale Rd. Deputies believe Hartsock was fishing and accidentally entered the swift-moving canal water below the dam and died as "a result of accidental drowning."
