I had just been reviewing old posts and one of yours caught my eye about the DA possibly holding things back. I started thinking maybe SW had been indicted by a grand jury. Wonder what turned the case? Did LE ever buy the $6K piece of evidence they wanted?
The evidence you mention is suspected to be a car. Possibly the one that went on the road trip to Texas. But who really knows? There is much in this case that doesn’t have MSM links so cannot bring it here.

Grand Jury is a good theory, is everything sealed? I was so excited to see movement I didn’t notice.

Stacey Wondra's handwritten Oct 2025 motion for early release from federal prison. Not sure what he was trying to accomplish - did he have a heads up on the murder charge and wanted to make a move? It's a moot point now that he's been arrested. Parking it in here for reference.

Thanks for the link. I see that in January 2025 Wondra filed a petition to change his name. It is still pending.

The court record has a Redacted and an Unredacted petition for name change filed in January. In September, the court record notes the petitioner's request to amend the name change petition and update contact information. It lists a Redacted and an Unredacted petition to amend. That amendment was granted on October 21, again the record contains Redacted and Unredacted versions.

Was Wondra trying to change his name to avoid being associated with the disappearance after his anticipated release? Before this week, he was already named publicly as a suspect. Wouldn't that be sufficient grounds for denial?

I'm not able to access the underlying documents. I wanted to see what he wants to change his name to and what the amendments were. Could it be that civil petitions aren't available to the public while the case is pending? Maybe someone more knowledgeable can take a look at the record and tell us how to access the documents.

I haven't followed this one. Does anyone have any idea what the Wondras motive to harm little guy would have been?
They are just sick and twisted skummbags. No motive other than opportunity. Little Michael was out walking around, looking for some of his friends in his neighbourhood, and these monsters saw him walking around alone and they swooped in.

This is an old leaked video of Stacey Wondra from station KTVB's site. I thought it might be interesting to rewatch his body language, and listen to what he's said after his recent arrest. It's long (over an hour).

Warning: This video contains graphic language, and viewer discretion is advised. The video shows Stacey Wondra, who is one of four suspects in the disappearance of then-5-year-old Michael Vaughan, speaking with police. He claims he watched Vaughan's burial, and his wife Sarah is the one who dug the hole.

And for those that don't want to watch a hour+ video I posted above... Here are some snippets of it in a much smaller chunk:

Sexual assault, IMO. They saw an opportunity to grab a vulnerable child, there was no accident where he was struck and they panicked. I'll never believe that. The four of them will all point the fingers at each other.

Its been some time since I have read up on this one, but wasn't at least one of the other two guys a sex offender? Entirely possible I am remembering it wrong.
Also, didnt Sarah go totally wacko with some serious religious stuff when the buck stopped at her door, and end up being committed? I'm sure I remember that I could never decide if she really was having some kind of episode or she was just good at putting on a show.

She was driving around in her car reading bible passages and uploading the dashcam footage onto tiktoks.
Claiming to run a christian taxi service.
I'm not sure it was real and yes she did seem mentally unbalanced.

No, the other two - Shurtliff & Lucien are not on any RSO Registries. The Wondras's next door neighbors were though.

IMO, Sarah wasn't putting on a show. But I think a substance abuse problem played into her mental health decline - MOO.
Looks like Stacey filed for divorce again in Jan this year, he was granted a default ruling this month. So they are no longer legally married.

Divorced, so they can’t claim spousal privilege. Though either one of them would probably have thrown the other under the bus, whether married or not.

Things have gone quiet. Apparently Wondra is still sitting in jail in Arizona waiting to be extradited. I was curious about the whereabouts of the rest of this gang of monsters:

Sarah Wondra is an inmate at South Idaho Correctional Institution North Dorm. Assault-Aggravated (With Deadly Weapon or Instrument) and Evidence-Destruction, Alteration or Concealment

Brandon Shurtliff is in custody at Canyon County Detention Center in Idaho on unrelated charges. 20-227 FTC - Fail to comply Alternative St

Adrien Lucienne has an open warrant for his arrest on unrelated charges. 35-43-4-2.7(d)/MB: Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle He failed to appear at a 10/20/25 hearing.

Thank you for this, good to know Shurtliff is now in custody. Only a matter of time and Lucien will trip up.

Do you think they are questioning Shurtliff to see if he will give anything up? I worry about the case relying on Stacy’s testimony and credibility. He’s a proven liar and Sarah is crazy as a loon.

Good question. I suppose it depends on the severity of any penalty Shurtliff faces for his probation violation. If he has leverage to talk and reduce his own penalties, he might. Else, his lawyer probably advised him to zip his lips.

Someone’s going to roll over, it should be a race to the trough …
