LEWISTON — Idaho State Police have issued an Endangered Missing Person Alert for a man who was last seen Saturday.

Randy Clark Jackson, 71, was supposed to be driving from Kamiah to Lewiston and back to Kamiah on Saturday afternoon. He was seen in Lewiston but nobody has seen or heard from him since.

Jackson was wearing a gray button shirt, blue or black shorts, brown shoes and gray socks. He is possibly driving a 1995 green GMC Suburban with no license plate. The SUV has a “We the People” bumper sticker.

Jackson is 6’02”, weighs around 360 lbs. and has red hair and blue eyes. He suffers from hearing loss and has back and hip issues.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Most recent update that I could find- Still missing
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO), Jackson, 71, after checking multiple cameras in many locations, his vehicle — a 1995 GMC Suburban — was seen on video headed east toward Kamiah from the Orofino area around 2:41 p.m., on Saturday.
Jackson lives outside of Kamiah and was known to take more than one route home. Deputies have driven all routes from Orofino to his residence but have been unsuccessful in locating any signs of him.

Mr. Jackson is still missing. :(

I haven't found any updates but there is a tidbit of info on the ID Missing Persons Clearinghouse profile I hadn't seen elsewhere (highlighted below). I searched Google Maps for a Greer Bridge Road but only found a Greer Grade Road. Hwy 12, which runs along the Clearwater River almost the entire distance, appears to be the most direct route one would take from Lewiston to Kamiah. Randy would have had to cross the bridge over the Clearwater River when he turned left onto Greer Grade Road (State Hwy 11) from Hwy 12. If Randy was in fact seen turning onto Greer Bridge Rd and if Greer Bridge Rd is Greer Grade Rd, I wonder why he would have decided to turn there? There doesn't appear to be any gas stations or restaurants in the area, so does he know anyone from there? It doesn't seem like Hwy 11 is a road he would take for a short cut to Kamiah seeing as it heads in an easterly direction then back north, opposite the direction to Kamiah, ID. So where did Randy go? It's been over a month since he was last seen.

In fact Hwy 11 isn’t really a “highway” it becomes a gravel road and climbs a lot. It literally goes from 700ish feet to over 3000 . This area is extremely remote and there are a lot of twists and turns . It’s forested so easily could conceal a vehicle if it left the roadway . We travelled it once. NEVER again !

Sad news :(

The body of a 71-year-old Kamiah man who was reported missing eight months ago was found this week by hikers in the Woodland area of North Idaho, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Randy Jackson was found dead in a 1995 green GMC Suburban, which was discovered in a steep ravine near Woodland, north of Kamiah. The hikers found the vehicle and body Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

I hope this sad discovery at least brings a measure of peace to his family and loved ones.

My speculation only: he may have sought out sparsely traveled roads because his vehicle did not have license plates. In my experience, people who drive vehicles without plates or with expired plates seek to avoid any and all encounters with law enforcement.
MOO.
