Reported on CNN moments ago. She was 51, and died of complications after a bone marrow transplant. What a heroic woman! I will have to find a biography of Susan Butcher to add to my bookshelf.

Her death is a large loss; she showed the world what women are made out of.

You've got that right, buzz. I love women like that - they make me look in the mirror and feel silly for all the groaning and complaining i do about how hard my life is, and the 17 different excuses I have for not going for it, making the most of each day.

She left behind 2 daughters. How lucky for them to have such a marvelous role model.

I loved how close she was with her dogs. Told me an awful lot about her.

Sad to hear--she was only 51,had a very rare disease called polycemia,then she got leukemia---an amazing woman,accomplished a lot in her short life
