It doesn't have to be freezing for someone to die of hypothermia. From webmd:

Hypothermia can occur when you are exposed to cold air, water, wind, or rain.

Your body temperature can drop to a low level at temperatures of*50°F (10°C)*or higher in wet and windy weather, or if you are in*60°F (16°C)*to*70°F (21°C)*water. If you have mild hypothermia, home treatment may be enough to bring your body temperature back up to normal.

Thank you for the info, Vmmking! I have read that hypothermia can cause a person to feel hot and shed clothes. That was my first thought.

So sad another missing from riverbend area
I tried creating another thread for Denita Hedden but keeps saying I need a prefix. Then when I go to prefix it has no prefix selected and no other selection.

Sheriff’s office seeks information on missing Macoupin County woman

Hedden was reported missing by her roommate and initially was thought to have been last seen on Saturday.

Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl said after talking to more people they now think she may have been missing since Thursday. Kahl said Hedden’s birthday was Thursday and her roommate told investigators that she was going out to celebrate

The article of clothing made me think about possible hypothermia, but the temps were above freezing the days after she went missing.

A person can suffer from hypothermia with temps as high as 50 F if it's windy and the exposure is prolonged or you add in dampness or rain. If she had one night outside in the high 30's without adequate shelter or clothing protection that would do it.

They are checking if drugs or alcohol played a factor as to formal cause of death but autopsy showed that exposure to the environment was a factor. http://www.bnd.com/news/local/article197695729.html
Bringing this forward again. I wonder what the temps were, including wind chill, and if it rained.

ETA - and alcohol can reduce the core body temperature, so if she had any alcohol, that could come into play.

Has there been any actual work done on this case? I knew Adria, and she spent every day living in fear of her estranged husband. I'm sure that anyone who spent more than five minutes around her would have heard her complaints about his stalkish behavior. Some of the stories she told concerning him seemed to be outlandish. There'd been times when I'd start to think that she may have been exaggerating, but then you'd see proof. There were a few of us hanging out at her house the last time I saw her. She was telling me how her husband would get a friend of his to drive past her house, and she thought she'd seen this person taking either a photo or video with a cellphone as they passed by. Almost on que, the sound of a truck's engine could be heard approaching; and as she moved to the window, she said, "What'd I tell you? Look!" Sure enough, we both saw a man driving slowly past the house with a cellphone stuck out of the window. She also said that someone had set her trash cans on fire a few days prior, and there was damage to the outside of the house. The creepiest thing, though, was what her husband called to ask her a few minutes after my brother and I arrived at her place. He only had one question, and it was, "who's the girl and guy sitting on your couch?" Now, we didn't see anyone around when we got out of my car and knocked on her door; and he shouldn't have had any reason to be in the area at the time, mind you. Now, again, Adria had just told several of us, as she had on a few occasions, that she believed he'd placed a camera or some type of listening device in her home while she out. Normally, this statement would make me think the person was a tad bit paranoid; but not after the phone rang, and the person on the other end knew how many visitors she'd had, and that one of them was female. I didn't know Adria all that well, but I was looking forward to getting to know her, as we had a lot of common interests and knew many of the same people. There were two things I learned about her in the short time we were acquainted: 1) she was scared that her husband was going to hurt her one day. 2)she was very happy to have just gotten that car, and wouldn't have abandoned it, or drove it off-road on purpose.
