i had to pull the link back up when i realized i didnt even bat a eye lash at this line.
Zook is described by police as a friend of the baby’s mother.

Maybe he is a friend, maybe he's an 'uncle', the only label I care for right now is baby killer. I hope he gets what's coming to him.

Wow, why would you leave your baby with someone like that.

Because people don't care. I always say "Would you give the person who is watching your child the keys to your new car?" People balk at that. Well, then why would you entrust your child to them?

Kenneth Zook is still pre-trial and apparently out on bail. He has a pre-trial hearing in the St. Clair Circuit Court on 7/22/2010. I have set Vinelink for notification on him.

June 2012:

Defense attorneys in the murder trial of a man accused of shaking a 5-month-old girl said Thursday that doctors worldwide "believe that shaken baby (syndrome) is an absolute lie." Neither forensic pathologists involved with 5-month-old Alayna Frazier's autopsy could say for certain Alayna died from being shaken. But they do believe her death wasn't accidental and it was not blunt force trauma that killed her...

Kayla Frazier pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in the death of her daughter and got probation. She is serving three years at the Lincoln Correctional Center for burglary and theft convictions.

2012:

-A St. Clair County judge has declared a mistrial in the southwestern Illinois case of a man accused of being on heroin while killing a 5-month-old girl. Judge Michael Cook declared the mistrial early Saturday in 26-year-old Kenneth Zook’s case.

June 2012:
Prosecutors contend Zook admitted shaking Alayna Frazier because she wouldn't stop crying. But Zook's attorneys countered that Zook blacked out from heroin use and dropped the baby or fell on top of her...

The case will return to court this week to decide whether Zook will be tried again and whether a judge will set bail for Zook.
