Her obit says she died on the 20th but she was reported missing on the 8th or 9th. I wonder if that means that she was found dead on the 20th or if she was God-knows-where for those 2 weeks and actually died on the 20th.
And I absolutely understand that an investigation is probably on-going. My surprise was that neither LE or media announced she was recovered at all.
Several years ago a female was shot in the head and left for dead in Fox Lake, not too far away. Nothing happens in Fox Lake so a well-known local girl being shot in her apartment parking lot in the middle of the night (as if she was stalked and executed) was a biiiiig deal. Everybody freaked out. She miraculously survived but never really recovered. Anyway, any time someone pushed for answers they were told it was an ongoing investigation. I had an acquaintance who was a local writer for the Daily Herald so I asked him what he knew. He told me that what he had found out scared the living ***** out of him and that the people involved were from out of town (and maybe even country) and the most dangerous drug and arms dealers who tried to execute her for skimming or something but that it was important that I stop asking people what was up. The people involved were too dangerous to even ask about. LE never updated the case and I guess just hoped everyone would stop asking questions. I certainly did. Nobody was ever caught or prosecuted. I wonder if Ariel's case is a flat-out murder and not an OD. Just a thought.

I believe that it's standard procedure for the "official" date of death to be the date the coroner/medic pronounces the person deceased. So Ariel could have been dead within hours of the last sighting, but her date of death would be the date when her body was found and she was officially pronounced deceased.

I live in the area so I've been following this one pretty closely. There was another local case I recall with eerie similarities pertaining to outcome, Kaitlyn Krug (once found deceased, not another mention of it.... just an Obit posted later). Never saw another word of it, also haven’t looked in a while…..

Stop the gossip and rumors. If you can't back up your statements with a mainstream media news link, or LE press release, then you can't post your remarks. He said/she said doesn't cut it.
Put yourself in Ariel's family's shoes, or in Ariel's place, herself. Would you like to leave this earth with a lot of strangers talking trash about you that hasn't been proven true? What if Ariel was your daughter, sister, friend?
Give it a rest.
