Here’s a new Jane Doe who just got added to Namus.

On May 8, 2023, the ME got a call at 12:30 AM regardIng the death of an unknown woman. The incident occurred on S Oakenwald Ave 60653 (Lake Michigan).

She was found dead floating in the lake up against rocks on the shore. She was decomposing and not recognizable, and there is no reconstruction or postmortem photo.

She had black hair and brown eyes. She was 5’9” (175 cm) and weighed 150 pounds (68 kg) with decomposition.

She is estimated to be under the age of 50.

Looks like she was found near Kenwood/North Kenwood. I wonder if she had an accident while swimming, although it does feel a bit early in the year for that.

Maybe. Some people just aren’t great swimmers and she probably overestimated her ability to swim.

Maybe. But Tere is mixed and there’s nothing saying the UID is. Still not a good reason to rule her out. I’d suggest her as a possibility.

Wouldn't be the first time the Chicago ME missed the mark. Plainfield is only about an hour away from Chicago by car, but who knows if she was telling the entire truth?

I'm pretty sure this Jane Doe is Tatyana Washington, she went missing 4/26 and lives about 1 mile from where this Jane Doe was found. I submitted her as a possible match on 5/26. Today they uploaded her clothing into the NAMUS profile. The shirt is an "Uplift Data Partners" t-shirt which according to her LinkedIn profile she worked there from 2017-2020. I emailed the NAMUS coordinator and let him know. Hopefully they are looking into it.

According to her sister's Facebook page she was found deceased, identified through dental records. So I would assume this is her. Very sad. RIP Tatyana.
