A woman was found on a CTA bus on Friday. It was not immediately clear on which bus route she was found.

After sending an alert asking for help identifying the woman, who is being referred to as “Jane Doe,” officers said they were unable to disclose her current location or condition as a safety precaution.

Jane Doe was found on the bus in the South Austin neighborhood, near the intersection of South Central Avenue and West Harrison Street, police said.

She was found wearing a black jacket with a blue collar, black pants and black boots, police said. Currently, the woman is unable to speak as a result of her injuries.

She appears to be between 30 and 40 years old, police said. She is about 5 feet 5 inches tall; her weight is not known. She has blue eyes and brown hair, according to authorities.

Jane Doe has a few tattoos; one says “Heather,” on a banner on her right shoulder. She also has a tattoo on her lower back of a spider and spider web.

Thanks JerseyGirl. Unfortunately, not much information to go on. Just FYI, Loretto Hospital is located right there at Central and Harrison. There is also a CTA bus terminal, where you can transfer buses, located across the street from the hospital. If she was a passenger on the Harrison bus, she could've caught it outside the Greyhound bus station downtown. And also, the Eisenhower expressway runs parallel to Harrison, so she could've been, "dumped" for lack of a better word, by someone using the Ike.

So profoundly sad. :(

The headline seems to be updated right now, but the story hasn't been (yet). I'll keep looking for more info.

Woman dies days after being found unresponsive on CTA bus

http://abc7chicago.com/woman-dies-days-after-being-found-unresponsive-on-cta-bus/2812264/

She has since been identified as 45-year-old Nancy Rosario of the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

I hope police can find out what happened to her and who did it. Rest in peace, Ms. Rosario.

ETA: Digging through more stories (links downthread), looks like her death was deemed unintentional.

Strange.

How did she receive her injuries? ... Medical examiners determined she died from an accidental overdose?

I hope the police are still investigating her case.
