Very worried for this man. Current temp in Chicago is 17 degrees. Also troubling is that he is not to be approached. Hope he turns up ok.

No updates that I can find. The hospital is in a very developed/populated area so I am surprised he hasn’t been located. However-aerial view of the area shows the hospital is close to some sort of green space and beyond that is the Des Plaines river. I hope he didn’t go in that direction.
I wonder what he was wearing.
Not many details available.

That is not the greatest area of town, although Hines VA is quite close, and there are lots of buildings to hide in at Hines, the hospital grounds are extensive, with a golf course, administrative buildings, even on site housing for students on rotations, that are easy to get into. Hines is huge. In addition that area is close to the train station, that goes downtown.

A large white man in this area, would be quite noticeable, walking around.

For sure, he would definitely stand out.

I drove past there for years every workday to get to 290 to go to work. The park system to the east of 1st Avenue is extensive and you can follow it all the way down to Ogden avenue if you stay on the West side of the River. However, there's a section where the River is almost right up to the road and it would be very easy to go into the water there. If he went north he's in Maywood. That's one of the few areas on the west side of town I will NOT leave the main road to get gas or anything. It would NOT be a safe area for him. However, before you get there, North of 290 on the east side is a huge Law Enforcement facility and police and Sheriffs are regularly driving in and out of there which is a plus.

Also at the 290 tollway interchange, there is almost ALWAYS a panhandler or two there from dawn to dark that comes in from the homeless shelters or their crash pads for the commuters. Maybe if he met up with one of them and they saw he needed help they could have taken him to a shelter. The regulars that work that corner are all pretty friendly to one another from all the interactions I witnessed. I hope so, as he couldn't have lasted a night outside in the cold we have had the last two nights (the HIGH yesterday in my Village was 12).
