Clothing: A Sears' navy / chambray shirt (size 9 - medium); stonewashed bell bottom jeans, and black St. Michael shoes (size 9 - 9 1/2).

Circumstances of Disappearance

Zimmerman was last seen in Gifford, Illinois on May 26, 1997.
She went to a party in Rantoul Memorial Day Weekend. It was at a mobile home park of Route 136 just outside of town. That's the last time she was seen.
Heather left all of her personal belongings at home. Her purse had been stolen shortly before her disappearance. She was not carrying any credit cards, cash or identification as a result. Heather was employed as a clerk at Casey's store in 1997. She never retrieved her paycheck from the business.
Heather's husband was enlisted with the US Marines in Japan. He had come home on leave for a short time. But, since they were separated at the time, Heather resided with her parents in Gifford, Illinois.
Extensive searches of the area produced no clues as to Heather's whereabouts. It is uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. She did not have access to a vehicle at the time of her disappearance.

According to the charleyproject links above, LE has a POI but will not release any information. I would hope that they are looking into his past to see if he had contact with any other girls that went missing.

This is the first time I've heard of Heather. She's such a beautiful girl. Thirteen years is too long for her family to go without answers. Hopefully, someday they will get them.

For anyone who's interested the man who was last seen with Heather and the main POI in this case was sentenced to 20 years in prison back in 2016 for beating up his girlfriend and strangling her. He was telling her he was going to kill her while he strangled her.

Her father, Ron Mullins, does recall that earlier on May 26 Heather had received a couple of phone calls, and he thought the caller was her husband. She seemed upset at the time.
