Janet Tillman, of the 9500 block of West Main Street in Belleville, was reported missing Nov. 5, several days after family members last heard from her.

Tillman is a black woman with medium skin tone; 5 feet, 7 inches tall; 185 pounds; and wears glasses. She has a scar on her neck from a trachea tube and a scar on her left eyebrow.

Janet was last seen getting into a vehicle with an unidentified person Oct. 28 in the area of Ninth Street and Exchange Avenue in East St. Louis, according to Belleville Police. She was also known to frequent the Illinois 203 Truck Stop in Troy.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Belleville Police Department at 234-1218.

Vickie Tillman is also putting up $3,000 of her own money as a reward for information that leads to the location of her sister. Tillman can be reached at (888) 423-1915.

There is a picture at the link of her brother holding her missing poster. Her pic is on the missing poster. Not a real great way to have a missing person's photo out there, but, something is better than nothing.


ETA - you know this does tick me off. I live in Belleville and the notice of the family's protest at city hall this week is the first mention I have seen of Janet Tillman in the local media. The St. Louis Post Dispatch ran a story as well. She went missing in October last and nothing till now.

A protest was held in honor of Janet Tillman Thursday morning in front of Belleville City Hall by about two dozen family and friends, carrying signs and chanting. The protesters alleged city police had failed to properly investigate the disappearance of the 50-year-old Belleville resident whom family members said worked as a prostitute in East St. Louis.

"I'd just like people to be aware and help find her," Janet's older sister, Vanessa Outlaw, said. "We just need the help of the police force and community and we need their help."Janet Tillman was last seen the evening of Oct. 16 in East St. Louis, getting into a solicitor's vehicle while working as a prostitute.

This is the 14th anniversary of the disappearance of a Belleville woman. Janet Tillman’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information to find her. She was last seen in East St. Louis on October 28, 2007. This was just before her 50th birthday.

Tillman has a scar above her left eye and another scar on her throat.

Tillman was last seen when she was picked up by an African-American male individual driving a dark red car in the vicinity of Ninth Street and Exchange Avenue in East Saint Louis, Illinois on October 28, 2007. She has never been heard from again.

She resided in the 9500 block of west Main Street in Belleville, Illinois, and that city's police are investigating her disappearance. She left her pets behind, unattended, outside her home.
