"Police are still searching for a 31-year-old man three weeks after he went missing in the South Shore neighborhood.
Jeremy Stanford was last seen July 20 in the area of Lavergne and Division, according to Chicago Police.
Stanford, nicknamed “J”, was described as black with a medium complexion, about 6-foot and 195 pounds and having brown eyes and black hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black jogging pants.
Stanford has a tattoo on the left side of his neck that reads, “heavy hitter,” according to police.

Anyone with information was asked to call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8274."

So, Lavergne and Division explains the Austin connection per the "Black and Missing" site. But, was he last seen in the South Shore neighborhood (79 and Colfax) or in Austin (Lavergne and Division)?

<<Chicago police described him as 6-feet tall and 195 pounds with brown eyes, black hair. He has multiple tattoos, including a diamond on the throat, Gemini twins on his abdomen and a tattoo on the left side of his neck that reads, “heavy hitter.”

Tamara Stanford said her brother “used to be” a gang member during his teen years, but cut those ties years ago. He works in a plastics factory in Bedford Park.

She said she was told her brother was attacked with a crowbar, knocked unconscious, thrown into a car and driven away while demanding that a man repay the $60 he borrowed.

But those same people who provided those details have refused to talk to police. And the surveillance tape that proves what happened was mysteriously “erased” the next day.>>
