No one has been charged yet and police are currently investigating. IMO this baby boy was being cared for by his father and possibly father's family members during this visit.

Kayson Flowers, a 2-month-old boy, died in April in Roseland. The medical examiner determined that the child died from abuse and ruled it a homicide. A $7,500 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his death.

The father returned the baby to [his mother] on April 28, and when he handed the stroller to her, he told her the baby was sleeping. She walked the baby two blocks to her home... but when she went to take him out, she discovered he wasn’t breathing.

Tragic. I don't understand a 2 month old baby visiting the father for a week. A few hours at that age, but not an entire week.

Sounds like the parents are not together. I wonder if the father was enraged for some reason and took it out on the baby. Who can even imagine hurting a baby?

I didn't even take my daughter out in public for the first time until she was 9 weeks old, let alone give her to someone for an overnight visit. I don't care who it is. Especially at that age, you need special experience for a newborn, it's a completely different situation just 4 months later, IMO. Too much can go wrong.
Not that I am blaming anyone, maybe mom needed some time to herself witch is natural, and was convinced or bullied into agreeing. She should have been able to trust him to keep the kid alive at the very least. Maybe they agreed he would call her if he had any questions or issues out of the ordinary.
To just give him back and act like everything is fine when the kid was already dead, jesus, what did he expect would happen?? Mom would put him to bed and not notice??

Speculation only: The father asked for a week with the baby, and the mother, exhausted from taking care of a newborn alone, agreed. She believed he would have help/support from his relatives. Meanwhile the father had no idea how difficult it would really be.

Someone took our their rage on this baby...
Hopefully the full truth comes out.

6 to 8 hours before is what they are estimating Kayson's TOD the morning his body was delivered to his mother. I cannot imagine how devastating it was for his mommy to see him like that, to realize, the horror, the anger, the despair. Such a sweet adorable little baby.
