That is a frustrating lack of info. The pin looks like it's in Waukegan right off 137, but I'd take that with a grain of salt. I wonder if I could FOIA more information on his case...
Yeah, that would be great. It's such a shame there's no morgue photo. Also that there isn't a clothing description, or a descritption/pic of the bike.

They could at least do a facial reconstruction of what he looked like even without the morgue photo.

Exactly! Even if they don’t show us a morgue pic they can at LEAST make a sketch of the guy! They could give him a little more respect, sheesh! I think they were just like “oh a man was hit by a car while riding his bike” and just called it a day. They should have done more. Very frustrating lack of info.

Agreed. I have seen cases where the deceased was recognizable but they did not have a postmortem photo, but had a sketch or composite. EG a lot of NCMEC cases and a lot of cases of minors. They could have done the same for this young man.

I reached out to the County Coroner. That said, it looks like the location pin on NAMUS is just the coroner's office.

The gps coordinates on namus are almost always wrong I have noticed.

Hi. I'm bumping this case up. I don't suppose you remember whether they got back to you in 2023?

Does he have any rule-outs?

Here are some missing young men listed in NamUs that I think should be looked at:

Because he went missing from Illinois in 1990, Garry, NamUs #MP22001. However I think John Doe's weight, height, and age don't quite match well enough and so it's unlikely.

NamUs #MP98086, Kevin, missing since 1988. His age would be about 29 in 1991, though.
