Update: Search continues for missing man in Kenilworth
The Kenilworth Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in confirming the wellbeing of a Chicago area man, current residence unknown.
On Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, a person walking on the Kenilworth Public Beach reported finding a bicycle and backpack partially buried at the water’s edge of Lake Michigan. Upon checking the contents of the backpack, officers located the identification of Mark Anthony Davenport, 44. Acquaintances of Davenport report last speaking with him on Sunday, Nov. 4, in the 2000 block of W. Logan Boulevard in Chicago. He has not been in contact with them since that time and gave no indication that he was traveling to Kenilworth.
"We are still investigating and working with the Coast Guard and fire department to hopefully have a search done today of the waters on our shoreline," Kenilworth Police Chief David Miller told The Beacon Wednesday morning. "There is no new information to share at this time."
