Antioch Police Department ask for public help in search for missing resident

ANTIOCH, Ill. (March 13, 2025) — The Village of Antioch Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 37-year-old local resident. Megan Bos was last heard from by family members on February 17, 2025. She was reported missing to the Antioch Police Department this week.

Antioch Police Detectives have pursued multiple leads and are coordinating with several law enforcement agencies in northeastern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin. Her whereabouts remain unknown. Her family says she is known to frequent the Waukegan, Kenosha, Racine and Milwaukee areas. Bos is 5'4" tall, weighs approximately 200 pounds, has dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a birthmark below her left eye. She also has tattoos on her right bicep, chest, and right thigh.

“We are asking anyone with information to come forward to help Megan reunite with her family,” said Antioch Police Chief Geoffrey Guttschow. “We ask anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to call the CenCom Dispatch Center at 847-270-9111.”

I have curiosities that I won't state in the event that if it were to be the case, could put her in danger, if it hasn't already. I truly hope with my whole heart that it isn't the case here...

The area/s listed are a straight shot from the WI/IL border along Lake Michigan, approx 1hr drive North = Milwaukee (with Racine & Kenosha in between), approx 1hr drive South = Chicago (with Waukegan being a northern suburb along the way).
These cities that Megan is noted to frequent are unfortunately mostly pretty sizable, and without further intel on specific areas... It's practically impossible to know where to effectively search, even with a large group.
Also to note, many aren't comfortable searching parts of the cities... Which is fair/legit, not everyone is equipped to search certain areas for personal safety reasons.

Family (via FB) have stated that Megan's phone has been 'off' since the late evening hours of 2/19/25... And that it's 'being pinged every 15 mins' (<- REF comment from her mom) but obviously hasn't provided any helpful data so far, so it sounds like PD is keeping watch in the event that the phone IS turned on at any point, but no luck so far.

There was a group event that family coordinated this afternoon, via the Where is Megan Bos? FB Page, to canvass door to door in the area where Megan was alledgedly last seen on foot, which unfortunately didn't see until this evening.
I honestly thought she'd been found as I haven't seen more abt it since March, but stumbled upon it today sadly confirming that she's still very much MIA.
The above referenced location, at the intersection of Grand Ave & N Butrick St is maybe (approx time via driving) 5 mins SW from Illinois Beach Nature Preserve, and maybe 3 mins West from Lake County Courthouse, Genesee Theatre, and Waukegan Harbor (dunes, marina, lighthouse, etc.)

Waukegan, just like Racine & Kenosha, are all decently sized suburbs, and quite varietal in that you can be in what's deemed a safe, comfy area, but quite the opposite once you cross over to the next block.

With the phone not helpful at this time (it's been almost 2 months, not likely any reason that it would turn back on atp... Unless, for ex. it's a prepaid & she's just out of minutes, but context from family comments don't sound like that's the case, but I could be wrong), it would seem that best bet is either 1. any home or business surveillance footage still avail from 2/19 (which is what the event today was canvassing the area to solicit for), OR 2. friends she spoke with frequently that she may have confided in (any types of info she wouldn't particularly feel comfy or want to divulge to family).

I've yet to find, and it even says 'not yet confirmed by police' on the latest flyers, why family is so confident in this location the evening of 2/19. Maybe they aren't, but just following up on ANYTHING potential to either rule out or confirm.

My heart truly aches for her mom... From her posts, she's absolutely relentless, restless & heartbroken since Megan's been missing.

Deceased adult female found during investigation of a tip called in to LE around 5pm Thursday 4/10/25. Death being investigated as suspicious circumstances... Her parents confirmed it on FB (both mother & father) as well.

What a heartbreak It seems this is the 2nd child they've lost (there are multiple references to a brother, Bryan, who according to his obituary passed suddenly in 2020, also leaving behind 2 young children).

Her poor parents, and young child... So much heartache.

There better be justice, if due... There are very few circumstances where a deceased body would be on your property (sources from what I've seen so far have not disclosed where the body was found, whether inside or outside) for 2 months without noticing...

I truly hope that LE isn't done with this yet...

He claims she died in his basement while he went to another area of the house for '5 minutes', he then destroyed & disposed of her cell phone, then left her body in the house for a few days until he ultimately wrapped her in a blanket & moved her outside, putting her in a garbage can out back.

"BREAKING: Detectives have arrested a 52-year-old man who admitted to wrapping up a dead missing woman from Antioch and dumping her body in a garbage can at a home in Waukegan."
