You'd think women would be part of the list here if it's what you're saying but they're not. There could be instances of what you're saying. Have you read up on the ones who have died?
I am just confused on what evidence there is of a serial killer. The medical examiners only say some died of drowning and ethanol intoxication (usually that inclusion implies accidental). Do you think they aren't releasing the full information yet? Or do you think they are just writing these deaths off? What is there to back up these claims?

Also what are you implying with Daniel Sotelo? Him and his girlfriend both drowned to death in the lake.

If anyone was murdered and found in the lake, it is most likely Elise Malary, who is not even on that list.

Eden, Joel, and Inaki were all pulled from the river (all in completely different neighborhoods), not the lake itself.

Is it POSSIBLE there's a serial killer? Sure. But is it most probable that young drunken men near bodies of water stumbled into these waters and drowned spread out through the city? Yes. I'd have no problem changing my mind if the medical examiners release more information. Some of the deaths are pending, but also some of these "cases" are already getting old...

It doesn't help that getting assaulted and tossed off a bridge isn't a completely uncommon way to get murdered, so (in addition to it being a common trope in fiction) there are plenty of instances where it has definitely happened and some instances where it might have happened like Caleb Marple.

This makes confirmation bias an easy trap to fall into unless you really look at all the cases and the data as a whole. Loved ones yearn for an explanation, the news audience thirsts for drama but the reality is that almost everyone dies for no good reason at all.

I've read up on the theory and thought it was interesting but not realistic at all.
Couple reasons why women might be less lying to fall into water and drown when inebriated IMO:
-women are more likely to go out and leave together, and watch out for one another when walking home
-walking back in the middle of the night while drunk is more dangerous n nerve-wracking for women, so many would chose to again, walk home with friends, or take a ride share
-a theory i've heard before is the male victims may have been trying to urinate in a canal or over a bridge, and subsequently lost balance and fell in (can't comment on if the theory is viable because uhhh i don't have the right anatomy and don't know how drunk guys pee).

Both the WHO and CDC note that 80% of drowning deaths are males.

NY Post article today says they are looking for a serial killer in all these lake drownings. Over a dozen cases.
Peter is mentioned in the article.

From the article:

There’s too many coincidences,” Tracy Walder, former CIA and FBI federal agent told The Post by phone.

Walder thinks a serial killer could be at work, pointing out the cases of “accidental” drownings, bodies being recovered far from where the victims were reported missing, and short periods during which multiple victims have been found.

yes I saw that - the poster said the article 'says they are looking for a serial killer in all these lake drownings' implying that the police are currently looking for a serial killer which is not what the article says at all

the person quoted is giving her opinion on what could be happening - she is not involved in the police investigation

The December cases involved Krzysztof Szubert, 21, and 25-year-old Peter Salvino, whose bodies were found days apart. Both men’s causes of death were found to have been “drowning with ethanol intoxication as a contributing factor,” and their manners of death were ruled “accidental.”

Both men were seen of surveillance footage entering Lake Michigan alone, NBC Chicago reported.

The body of Krzysztof Szubert, 21, was found in Lake Michigan in December 2022.The body of Krzysztof Szubert, 21, was found in Lake Michigan in December 2022.
