Former Miss Guyana World, who is also a former Miss Guyana Universe Ruqayyah Boyer has gone missing in the United States.

The 33-year-old woman, according to a missing person’s bulletin, was last seen on the 16th February at the Chicago Union Station in Chicago, Illinois.

Relatives of the model and former beauty queen are concerned about her mental state. She reportedly spent several weeks in a US mental health facility after being admitted by a Court.

Does Ruqayyah have money? Does she know anyone in Chicago? Why would she go there? I hope that she'll be found safe very soon.

She explained that Boyer was recently released from a hospital in Washington DC and reportedly made her way to Virginia and before relatives could reach her, she left Virgina for Chicago.

The sister said the family has been trying its best to locate her and get her the help she needs, but they have been facing some difficulties in their efforts to locate her, since she would move around from state to state.

Boyer left Guyana over two years ago.

Over a year ago, many of her friends expressed concern about her well-being after she made a number of “out of character” posts on social media.

Family members are hoping that anyone who would have information about her whereabouts would contact telephone number 347-600-5810.

She didn't went missing with a sash and crown for all that matters, so why is the focus in all the news outlets so much on her being a former beauty queen (2013). She is a -black- African woman in despair with mental health problems and doesn't stand out in the crowd. It would be nice to see pictures of her without make-up and more recent.

I don't believe she's wearing makeup in the photo on the right in the first post

I'm not sure, but I found her Facebook and Instagram

She reportedly went to Virginia after she was released from the hospital in Washington, DC and was then seen at Chicago's Union Station -- if she took the train to Chicago, she would've gotten on at DC's Union Station so there would have been no reason for her to travel to Virginia first unless she planned on seeing her relatives and backed out last minute. How was she getting around? Metro? Car? Uber/taxi?

FWIW, Guyana is in South America. She is Black, but she is not African.

OT but I'm headed to Guyana in a couple weeks.

I don't like the sound of this situation at all. . . praying she is found safe.

Wonder if she was taking meds for her mental health issues?

The Midwest is currently experiencing a major winter storm. I'm really hoping she didn't wander off and succumb to the weather.

The 33-year-old, who is also known as a singer in Guyana, has reportedly resisted efforts by her family in recent months for her to reside with them and has been roaming from state to state.

“She told a friend she was going to LA but the friend has no address or anything. And I don’t know that she has friends or family there but Ruqayyah loves LA.

“She was in New Jersey and then she moved to Washington after she left on her own free will and we found her there and she was hospitalised for three days but then she left again.

Oh jeez. I love chicago with all of my heart but I would be terrified and confused if I was an out-of-towner alone in Union Station.

It’s a huge city and the loop is insanely busy between public transit, foot traffic, and cars. It would be very overwhelming.

I’m really hoping she has a coat and winter weather clothes. Chicago winters can be brutal.
