Security footage from the Martinak home shows Valorie drive away in her red 2015 Nissan Sentra. She never returned, leaving her garage door open and her medication she took daily at home. “She never leaves her door open for any length of time,” said H. M. H. and her grandmother K. believe Valorie left her home Wednesday around noon to grab some lunch from Culvers as she often does. But when she didn’t come home, they fear someone may have approached her.

Taking my Dad's car away from him when he got confused easily following a minor stroke with a lot of resultant meds was NOT easy. But he'd just take off in the car and not tell anyone where he was going - one time he was 3 hours away when he called that he was lost. (it was a route to a relative's he'd driven hundreds of times). It is so concerning when I see all these missing elderly who disappear with a car with medical issues, dementia or Alzheimers. How frightening for all involved.

Where is Miss Valorie? Very, very concerning.

@GraceG it is so hard to take their keys. Their independence. My Grandpop would ask while skin and bones if my mom would get him out so he could just sit in the car. Ummm after two accidents he told nobody about.

Hoping they find this dear woman safe. Also glad my mom never drove. Got her wits. Just about can make it out of her chair cause I so can't be combing the neighborhood for her.

Tonight special prayers for Miss Valorie!

Thought I’d point out the notice above from the South Beloit Police Dept says “Valorie’s telephone and Facebook account have both been inactive.”

I was wondering about a phone. It can’t be tracked?

The articles make no mention of problems with dementia, so I assume she has been ok where that’s concerned?

Not a lot of information about how she was found.
