[h=1]Missing Knox woman found dead[/h]
WINAMAC, Ind. (WNDU) A missing Knox woman has been found dead in her car.
She was found at the Braun Chevrolet in Winamac, according to our reporting partners at WKVI.

Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith told them that there's no confirmed cause of death yet.
Police are going through McCurdy's phone records in an effort to determine who she was in contact with before she disappeared.

RIP Barbara :rose:

There are so many over-doses around Indiana, it sadly might be one more.

MOO: She might have OD'd. She drove a Chevy Cobalt, but even so, I wouldn't think she would go undetected if parked at the Chevy dealership (which is not that large) for the entire time she was missing unless her body were somehow concealed in the car. She doesn't sound like someone who would disappear for weeks at a time usually, so one might speculate that she may have died not long after she went missing. It has been very cold in the Winamac area, so if she passed out while using in her vehicle, she may have died due to a combination of exposure and OD. The Chevy dealer parking lot would be an odd choice to shoot up in. If it is an OD, I think it happened elsewhere and someone may have moved her car and body. JMO.

She was behind a building from what I understand, the back lot. I know of someone who over-dosed in a Slumberland parking lot, it happens :(

A witness tells NewsCenter 16 that McCurdy was found slumped over in the passenger seat of her black Chevy Cobalt by a store employee. This person said they found her in the back lot of the dealership.

The news has left the Knox community heartbroken. Employees at the Zip Thru Mart in Knox tell NewsCenter 16 that McCurdy worked on and off at the shop for years.

The Knox City Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriff's Department are working together to piece together what led to McCurdy's death.

BBM. Why would she be in the passenger seat of her own car? Did someone drive her there?

[h=1]Family, friends remember Barbara McCurdy[/h]
"One moment I could cry my eyes out, the next moment I'm mad," Janice Estok said.

Estok was Barb's co-worker at the Zip Thru Mart for five years. She says Barb was like her daughter and that those who knew her are devastated.

"She was always so bubbly. She was the most, she was like a big kid, with a kind heart," she added.

"It's still so new and everybody is just wondering what happened. At this point, I think everybody is still in shock," Richard Sommers, Owner of O's Tap said.
Winamac police are still investigating, but right now they are keeping their information close. When asked if they had a suspect or person of interest in mind we were told "no comment."

The Pulaski County (IN) Journal is published weekly Here's the front page of the Jan. 31 edition, before they found her body. At that time, Winamac LE seemed to have an idea where she might be.
