IN IN - DeVona Burley Rothrock, 47, Monrovia, 20 Nov 2014

http://www.wthr.com/story/27646238/family-fears-missing-mother-is-in-danger

"I had spoken with her no later than 12:15 and he called me at 3:35pm. So within that amount of time, she was gone," Sandlin said. "She was fine on the phone. Normal conversation, nothing unusual. At the house, they couldn't see where there'd been any type of a struggle, anything. Nothing. Just the fact that her cell phone, her credit cards, her money, her coat and she was making hamburger patties were left in the kitchen."

The Morgan County Sheriff calls this case bizarre. He can't say for sure whether foul play is to blame for her disappearance, but he can't rule it out either. After weeks of searches and following leads, detectives have only hit dead ends.

:bump:

The 21st was DeVona's birthday. Happy birthday, DeVona. I really hope it was a great one for you. I hope you were able to see the lovely message your niece posted for you, and I hope you can contact her soon.

I can't find any media updates.

Where are you DeVona?

Morgan County police seek information in missing woman’s case
Published: June 18, 2015, 1:32 pm

Police are looking for Devona Rothrock who has been missing since Nov. 21 2014. Rothrock was reported missing by her son when returned home from school to find the back door opened.

The son found that his mother was not inside the home. Her cellphone and credit cards were still inside the home.

Police say the son contacted relatives and friends before calling police. Rothrock has not been seen since the disappearance.

Anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.

Her poor son. I was very surprised how little attention this woman has received. She left a burger on the stove for goodness sakes. And the FIL, I just dunno. Something there....

Thanks for your comment re: the FIL. Ever since the beginning, he (together with the husband :() has been the one I keep going back to, but I was afraid to say anything.

Somewhat encouraging is the fact that WISH decided to run this story. My hope is that there is a reason for this. Maybe LE are trying to put pressure on certain people?

Not too many updates. Her niece is sharing her fliers. No press from her husband in all of this time. How sad to disappear and leave so few ripples in your pond. Where are you DeVona?
I care. [emoji20]

Rumor:
Someone, initials RT on nieces FB commented that the husband is telling her son that DeVona ran off but that it isn't true...(RT is an ex husband of DeVonas that seems genuinely upset and is also trying to spread awareness)

I hope the police are looking at the person who is spreading those false rumors.

From what I can tell there are no new details on this case. From mutual friends I have been told she was a manager at a Hobby Lobby store a few towns over. I can't fathom why her husband didn't spend any time looking for her and why he filed for divorce within 2 months. I understand she may have left on her own accord but it doesn't seem like it. I would really like to dig more into this case. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start?

Ooof. this case sorely needs attention.

Unfortunately there are so few MSM articles on this one. Some family members have been somewhat active on social media, but unfortunately those details are likely not allowed here.

I am genuinely thinking about sitting down with the family members and get an interview up. Would something like that be possible to post here?

Details of Disappearance

Rothrock was last seen in Monrovia, Indiana on November 21, 2014. She spoke to her niece on the phone no later than 12:15 p.m.; the conversation was normal.

At 3:25 p.m., her son came home from school and found the door open. When he went inside, he found hamburgers lying out on the stove, but his mother was gone. There were no indications of a struggle. She left her jacket, cellular phone and credit cards behind and has never been heard from again.

Rothrock's husband was out of town on a business trip at the time of her disappearance, and she didn't have a car; her son's vehicle had broken down, so he'd borrowed hers to drive to school that day. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
