I moved to Chicago from Indianapolis when I got married. Fishers is an upscale area overall, and that particular subdivision is considered somewhat "luxury" homes ($500,00 - $800,000 in a city where the median home price is low 200,000s). A very safe area overall when I lived there so I can see her father worried it was an "outside influence" that helped her in leaving. Having moved to Chicago from Indianapolis, I can say that a $500,000 home there would be a million and up in my neighborhood here (my 1915 1000 square foot Mission bungalow that's NOT been updated other than plumbing and electrical was $400,000 so big sticker shock when I moved to Chicago

Where she lives is nice neighborhood to grow up in, but even the best of families and homes can have stressers for teens. I hope she is somewhere safe.

We want to thank everyone for their continued interest in the search for Hailey Buzbee. We have received numerous tips, and together, FPD, state, and federal partners have investigated every single one.

Sharing her information is helping. Calling us with pertinent information is helping. Please continue to do both!

Because this is an active investigation and to protect Hailey, many details about the search for her cannot be shared publicly. Here’s what we can tell the public:

Hailey did not act alone. She left her house either the night of January 5th or in the early morning hours of January 6th. Hailey left her house willingly and with a plan, which categorized her as a runaway. We do not believe she acted alone in leaving.

Based on the facts of the investigation, which we cannot share with the public at this time, her case has now been upgraded to an endangered missing juvenile. We have worked with and continue to work with our state and federal law enforcement partners to locate Hailey. If you see Hailey or have any pertinent information on her whereabouts, please call 911 or the non-emergency line at 317-773-1282.

Mayor Scott Fadness, the Fishers Police Chief Ed Gebhart, the FBI and others just walked out to tell us they believe Hailey Buzbee is dead. They tell us this is tragic news and they have taken 39 year Tyler Thomas (SP) of Ohio into custody.

He admitted he picked her up but then claimed he left her on the side of the road in OH. Columbus, OH Police found evidence in his home and his car that she had been in his house and at a short term rental property.

Right now they have not found her body, but they believe they have evidence to prove he killed her. He is not charged with her murder at this time as they continue to search for her and more evidence.

He is being held right not on no bond, he will be in court tomorrow.
