Police searching for Tennessee man who went missing in Anderson

Joe Knight, 27, is about 6-foot-1 and weighs about 200 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

He is from TN but went missing in Anderson IN.
He was last heard from by his girlfriend on June 8.
Knight was reported missing by his sister who stated he may be heading back to TN.

•picked up by Anderson police at 7:59 p.m. on June 6 after they found him standing on the Madison Avenue bridge above Interstate 69.
•after de-escalating the situation, police took him to to St. Vincent Anderson hospital for treatment
•Knight’s girlfriend stated she talked to him the morning of June 7 and on June 8
•he has not been heard from since then
•his sister reported him missing on Saturday
•it’s believed he may be heading back to TN where he is from
•family members have travelled to Anderson to search for Knight.

I read that to mean he was on the bridge in some sort of situation (possibly going to jump?) that was de-escalated by police. I wonder why they think he’s heading back home?

That was my first thought as well.
Also...family believe him to be heading to TN, however they travelled to Anderson to look for him...
