Joshua Batchelor, 37, was last seen walking in the area on Ind. 48 and Bellaire Drive on the hill in Lawrenceburg Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He left his residence without certification, money or cell phone.

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of when Joshua Batchelor left his grandmother’s home on Front Street in Lawrenceburg. The 37-year-old was seen getting into a gray or green colored pickup truck. He has not been seen or heard from since.

The family is now offering a $10,000 reward.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Joshua was last seen on April 26, 2017. Joshua was over his father’s house on Ludlow Hill when his dad thought he went outside for a smoke around 8 am. Joshua never came back inside, and his father then realized that his son’s wallet, keys, cigarettes, and lighter were still inside the home. A witness later reported seeing Joshua walking along State Route 48 on the same day he walked out his father’s door. Joshua’s phone is also missing. When police investigated Joshua’s phone records, they realized the last time his phone had a signal was on the same day he went missing.

Skeletal remains found in earlier this week near Lawrenceburg, Indiana have been identified as that of Josh Batchelor, who was last seen in 2017, police said.

A man contacted police Sunday, Oct. 13 after he saw human remains while walking in a heavily wooded area near Lawrenceburg, according to an Indiana State Police news release sent Wednesday afternoon.

The remains have been identified as belonging to Batchelor, who was reported missing in May 2017, police said. Investigators identified the remains using dental records.

The 37-year-old Batchelor was last seen April 26, 2017, according to the Indiana Missing Report.

Police investigators and University of Indianapolis forensic anthropologists searched the area Monday and Tuesday for additional remains.

The searchers found additional remains believed to be of the same person on Monday and Tuesday, police said.

Batchelor's family has been notified by police. The investigation into his death is ongoing, police said.
