GARY — Police are still looking for a 35-year-old Northwest Indiana woman who, according to police, was recently kicked out of her apartment and last seen living out of her car.
Gary police Lt. Nelson Otano said La Diamond Dixon, of Gary, was last seen by a friend on the morning of May 27 in the 1400 block of Jackson Street in Gary.
According to Otano, the friend said Dixon, who is struggling with a substance abuse problem, didn't seem herself. She was recently kicked out her apartment at Madison Avenue Townhomes in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street in Gary, Otano said.
No foul play is expected at this time. Dixon’s car, a 2004 green Volkswagen Passat, also is missing.
Dixon’s phone is disconnected, and she has not had any contact with family or friends since she was last seen, Otano said.
Dixon, a longtime employee with UPS, previously lived in Griffith years ago, Otano said. She has family members in Merrillville and Chicago.
